I am a very lucky little shopaholic! Right next to my office is a branch of John Lewis. I grew up with the belief that for anything that we needed ‘to last’ could only be bought from John Lewis and my attitude has changed little since I allegedly grew up; I still feel this way. Any of you have read any of my other Ops will now ... Read the complete review

Having spent years dreaming about owning a laptop I also spent the same amount of time searching for the perfect one. There are so many things to consider and with the computer market changing every second it completely confused me ? somebody who is extremely computer minded and very confident on them. 'Unique' is the word to describe The John Lewis Parnership which includes 23 department stores, waitrose supermarkets and a stake in the internet delivery service ocado. It is a company where staff are called 'partners' who each recieve a bonus out of the company's profits each year in March, the remaing profit is put back ... Read the complete review

John Lewis, for those who don't know, is owned by its workers. This is such a fantastic idea! The staff have a stake in the business and work hard because of it. The advantages are: Product knowledge Their knowledge of their areas is brilliant, and they can answer most questions. Staff courtesy They really ... Read the complete review

John Lewis online is a great way to shop, all your favourite products and departments broken down into different categories. Either look through a department or search for something specific. John Lewis is not just a store in Oxford Street; it is in fact the flagship store of the ‘John Lewis Partnership’. Now this is not a mere department store group but also includes the supermarket chain called ‘Waitrose’ Along with many other properties that many people do not even realise are owned by the group. ... Tis always a little difficult to write about something that everyone probably knows about, but I shall give it a good ol’ bash anyway. I’ll start at the beginning cause it seems like the best place to start really. John Lewis is a department store, in which you can expect to find a large specialised perfume & beauty ... My local John Lewis is Brent Cross. It is the only place I will go to buy electrical goods. They sell good stuff - the top brands and a better range than Dixons tho' not as wide as someone online like empiredirect.com Whilst the staff are busy, when you do get their attention they are knowledgeable, fair and you won't be talking ... I don't know another shop like this for really professional service and excellent quality merchandise. I have found that it's 'never knowingly undersold' moto has led to it's undercutting leading brands on many an occassion. Personally, I buy all my cosmetics and toiletries there whenever i can because it is always cheaper ... Read the complete review

Have you ever come to question the price of something you have sen offered for sale in a shop or a store? I have. The usual thing is to question onesself as to what mark-up of profit there is on the item and where one can get it a little cheaper, is it not? The self-questioning and the doubt take on quite another and an altogether more ... Read the complete review

I really have to say something about John Lewis. My local store is the one in London in Brent Cross shopping centre. There are three floors in the whole area. Top Floor ------------- The top floor contains, kids toys, electronic good, sofa and sporting equipment. The layout very easy to understand so there won’t be a ... Read the complete review

That's the feeling I get when I go to John Lewis, mainly using the Milton Keynes and Brent Cross stores. In terms of shop procedures and the way customers are treated by the partners, I feel I am experiencing the sort of customer service and care, more typical of the Britain of 40 years ago! As soon as I enter their stores,I am struck ... Read the complete review

I was first introduced to John Lewis during a shopping trip for my new school uniform. For some obscure reason which I have never fathomed, it is the only store which stocked my school uniform. Over the years, I have grown used to paying it an ocassional visit. In the way that children do, I pretty much took what it offered for granted. ... Read the complete review

I have little time for department stores but I love the John Lewis partnership. It’s unique because it doesn’t have employees, it has ‘partners’ who share in the profits of the company and who therefore have a vested interest in serving the customer and getting repeat business. It’s a bit like a co-op and I like that ... Read the complete review

John Lewis trade under the slogan "Never Knowingly Undersold", this means that they will price match, either reducing their price prior to sale or refunding the difference afterwards. I visited their Bluewater Store on 10/03/2001 and confirmed that this price comaprison still extended to the Internet as well. Subject to ... Read the complete review

John Lewis has to be one of the most successful department stores about. In Newcastle, there is no John Lewis department store, but there is Bainbridges, part of the John Lewis Partnership. Bainbridges is a bit of a mixed bag. Until recently, they didn't accept credit cards, which was a bit of a pain if you wanted to purchase large items. Now that they do, however, I am shopping there more often. ... I have just had to buy a school sweatshirt for my daughter from John Lewis. It was £25.00!!! It is an ordinary sweatshirt with a school logo on it. I had no choice in where to buy this from, as this is the only place that sells the uniform for my daughters school. I do not see why any store should make so much profit on a childs uniform. ... John Lewis is not your average Department store as they have some really good quality items but you certainly pay the price for them!
