Advantages: Very, very few
Disadvantages: Too many to list
My wife and I decided to become Kleeneze distributors after an elderly couple persevered and insisted in coming to our house to show us facts and figures including proof(aherm)of their income.
We had no previous knowledge of Network Marketting at this time.
We were advised of Kleeneze's 14 day money back guarantee but as has been previously mentioned in this forum we overran this due to us being advised to buy more catalogues to get our initial investment back (we initially started with 300 catalogues and were then advised to buy more!.) We were constantly buying more catalogues due to them being thrown in the bin, ruined by weather and stolen by other distributors.
Kleeneze have a method of dealing with catalogues being stolen and that is for you to disclose who you think is stealing them and for kleeneze to give your details to whoever you are making the complaint about. This process has lead to some very nasty exchanges.
You will not be working part-time as the following process explains
1. you make your catalogue packs up (time consuming and laborious.
2. you put your catalogues out(minimum 1 1/2 hours per 100 catalogues.)
3. you make more catalogue packs up for next day.
4. put out next days catalogues
5. retrieve catalogues initially put out knocking front doors to get the 50% of catalogues that haven't been put outside. You are then met by an irate house wife or husband to tell you that this is the 4th, 5th or 6th kleeneze catalogue they've recieved this week and to **** off and don't come back oh and I've thrown your book in the bin.
6. the next day you go back and try to get your catalogues back from people who weren't in.
7. as per 6. above and also retrieve your next load of catalogues.
8. as per 6.
9. as per 6.
10.collate your orders(if any)
11. Take orders to customers some of whom will tell you that they thought they were ordering from their usual distributor and they don't want your products ohh and old Johnny has been doing this run for 50 years and you are trying to steal his customers and how terrible you are( all of this from your own neighbours. watch your popularity sliding down the drain with your wet catalogues.)
12. guess what.. we're financially worse off than before we started.
Does it get any better, not really: petrol costs initial start up costs, more catalogues cost, order delivery cost.
THATS JUST THE RETAILING SIDE
We then decided to start the sponsoring side as we were advised to boost our income (ha).
We forked out much needed money to go to ra-ra opportunity meetings, seminars and conferences as our 'sponsors' told us we had to be at these events to help us in our teambuilding process.
This is where it gets fun as the con really starts to become more exposed.
We were working almost every waking minute carrying out allsorts of different marketing methods to try and 'dupe' someone else into this monster.
We were told by our 'sponsor' that we had to write a list of family and friends whom we or they would contact to try to get them to become a distributor. If they didn't say yes then you kept on trying with them until even your friends and family avoided coming into contact with you. This was a necessity we had to carry out or "your sponsor will drop you like a hot potato".
The proofs of income that our sponsors and sponsors sponsor showed us, other potential distributors and existing distributors were all false as the total amount on the 'Certificate of Income' also included VAT that they still had to pay so they were not true figures. Please BE AWARE these people will try to get you to join no matter what the cost.
We were told to advertise on street furniture e.g. lampposts, illegal as we now know and there has been at least one prosecution that we know of.
We were advertising for distributors in local and national newspapers in competition with other distributors one of which was our own sponsor and their sponsor. We found that because they had been in Kleeneze longer they could 'lie' more fluently and we had, on occasion, potential distributors 'stolen' from us by our sponsors using the words "who would you want to go with- someone who has been in this for the past 6 years and knows what they are doing or someone who is just off the street?"(the person who had been doing this for 6 years was still struggling to break even.
I could go on and on.
To summarise:
Our sponsor has quit with massive debts
Our sponsors sponsor has quit with massive debts.
Their sponsors income has dropped 75% and has massive debts.
We were with Kleeneze for 8 years foolishly being sucked into the'next year will be massive' mentality. We had debts totalling £40,000. We looked back at our paperwork and it was a sea of-loans to pay for advertising, loans for cars we couldn't afford because we were told that if we wanted to talk big to make it look that we were successful we had to look successful.
Our kids hated it because we had no time for them because we were always doing 'Kleeneze business'
The best move we made was when we decided enough is enough.
We sold our house to pay off our spiralling debts. We have a lot more time for each other, we are not constantly arguing as we were during our 'Kleeneze Experience' and we can give our kids the time that they deserve.
I more than welcome any comments from existing distributors but remember for any positive you may dream up I will always show you 5 downpoints on becoming a Kleeneze Distributor.
Summary: There are many Network Marketing companies out there choose very, very, very carefully

- 21/07/09 Ah right so everyone who does Kleeneze is gullible and falls for lies given to them by the person trying to sign them up!!! What a load of tosh! If you suspect you are being lied to then don't sign up. Ask for evidence that backs their stories up. It's as simple as that. If you think that you are being lied to and still sign up then you have only yourself to blame.
I have been doing Kleeneze for 13 weeks now, I absolutely love it, have not run up any further debts as I only reinvest the money I make from Kleeneze and I have signed up one person into my downline. I am always honest with people and tell them that there is good money to be made if they are prepared to work hard and put the effort in. Sow and ye shall reap! If anyone tells you that anything is a get-rich scheme then you should run a mile. There is no such thing!
As for doing Kleeneze for 8 years and still not making any money, I was making money after just 8 weeks so that person must have been doing something horribly wrong!
Someone else has posted a comment on here about being "better off going to the bookies" if you have only £75 to start up your business. I am glad you are not my sponsor! I started with 50 catalogues as I wanted to see for myself with little risk if the catalogues actually sold product as well as I had been told. Only after I was satisfied that they did and that I could make money from this did I invest in more catalogues.
I recommend to all of my prospects that they start with at least 200 catalogues, as it is the best way to turn a profit quickly. but if they simply can't afford this then I suggest the 50 catalogue starter pack for £75 and invest in more catalogues as soon as you can afterwards. I wouldn't dream of sending them to the bookies with the £75. As a sponsor you are supposed to support people and help them achieve their goals and ambitions not encourage them to gamble their hard earned cash down the bookies.
Too many people give Kleeneze up before they have even got going. They give up the first time it rains and their catalogues get wet. Well guess what, we live in the UK and it rains! Sorry if that surprises you but it is the truth. I found out very early on that if you don't regularly renew the plastic bags you distribute the catalogues in then they get holes in them and will leak in a downpour.
Yes and a few people do throw catalogues in the bin but only a very few of them. Get over it and don't deliver a catalogue to them next month! People go into shops everyday and steal things (the best analogy I can come up with for catalogues being thrown away) but does the shopowner give up the first time somebody steals something? Of course not, he picks himself up and gets on with it. Whatever business you are in you will suffer some short term losses but if you don't let this affect you and focus on the long term gain then you will succeed.
Anyway once you build up a solid customer base you will lose less catalogues because your regular customers will not throw them away.
So, Kleeneze is not for everyone. If you don't believe what you are being told by someone trying to sign up ask for evidence or simply don't sign up.
If you do sign up don't give up at the first sign of difficulty, you are running a business and will come across obstacles that you will need to overcome if you are going to succeed. If anyone tells that they are in any business and have never had any difficulties to overcome they are lying! If, after signing up you are unhappy with your sponsor you can always go further upline for assistance. |

- 21/03/08 I've done Kleeneze since Xmas with my wife, we've done very well indeed. I'd like to point out a few inaccuracies with some of the comments here. The returns process - and Kleeneze offer a full money back guarantee - you can get instant credit back to your account on the internet site. The stuff only goes back once a month but the money is available straight away.
It is a proper business that people are buying into and as such must be viewed as a business. There are costs and overheads to be taken into account as with any business. The rewards however far outweigh the costs . There is no con, there is nothing hidden , all the details are available when you sign up - it's all in the pack you get . If you read it and don't like it then there is a FULL money back guarantee.
It takes organisation and determination - my area is already served by other distributors and other catalogue companies but I still go out there and now I'm seeing REAL growth after just a few months. I recruited a couple - I made sure they had all they needed in the way of support and advice . They've made far more in their first 2 weeks that they had hoped for and have already reached the first bonus level - they have small children and work fulltime shift work.
I've only used money I made to reinvest in Kleeneze - I've structured my round so I can go after lost catalogues easily as well as putting out orders. It takes planning and preperation.
Some of the comments make out that there are hidden things that you aren't told about - what things? that some can't make it work and it isn't for them? thats fine if they can admit that but to say it's all a con is just wrong. I've run my own business for many years but Kleeneze has very real potential which I'm seeing right now in real growth.
The people you recruit see their own growth and profits - Kleeneze pay YOUR bonuses out of THEIR money not from the people beneath you. Can we at least see some genuine honest reviews rather than the emotive and sometimes quite wrong on this subject.
Why can't we see some honesty - if things go wrong , can't people take responsibility rather than blaming Kleeneze for shortcomings. I'm honest enough to see this isn't for everyone and I take pains to point out what is involved. I'm prepared to answer any real questions anyone has with valid information.
A point about Tax/NI - until you reach the tax threshold (it's on your P60) you aren't liable for Tax/NI , if you reach levels of income where you are then you need to get an accountant. |
