Well when you visit KS now it is surprising that with the exception of things having barcodes the stores have not changed. Whilst the rest of the retail industry has noticed the enormous changes in the buying habits of the population KS still seems to think we are a soup, baked bean and ready meal nation. In Kwik Save the sundried tomato is something dropped out the back of the store in August. It is not just the range of products which has not altered very much. Whereas other retailers have developed stores which are welcoming, ... more

The store stocked a narrower range of products than the local Tesco supermarket but all the top names were there and you could reasonably stock up on what you needed and save a little money. In order to achieve those savings there were few staff about and instead of fancy shelves many of the products were still in the transit packaging in which they had arrived at the store. One big difference in those heady days before bar codes and EPOS equipment was that the check-out operators had to remember all the prices of everything they sold and enter them manually into the tills. Kwik Save has been a shambles since the new management took over, they could not run a booze up in a brewery.
Why someone was mad enough to invest in them recently I cannot understand. The shelves are bare and they have no stock, do they really think people are going to shop there?

After working there for five years I must admit I've seen the place plummet pretty hard recently and its been hard to work in an environment where there is no stock to put out and no customers to serve. The reason we have no stock is due to all kwik save stores being sold last feb to a company called BTTF, we were told this company consisted of old kwik save managers commited to taking Kwik Save back to the way it was before Somerfield took over, anyway this company had to start negotiating new contracts with the suppliers, this took a while, meanwhile our shelves started emptying and so to try and make our shelves look fuller we spread out our remaining stock a ...  Read the complete review
