I have used the service of this "French chic" catalogue on numerous occasions without a problem, my clothes have arrived, they usually fit, and it if they don't then you can arrange a day for a courier to come and collect the parcel free of charge. My last two experiences both in 2007 were somewhat different. In the January I placed a lingerie order for my mums birthday present. Having shopped with La Redoute since their launch over 20years ago, I recently felt the sharp end of their Customer Services. I lost my job through the recession and found it difficult to keep up the payments - I owed £200. I should mention that La Redoute gave me a spending limit of £1500, which is irresponsibile but thank god I had the sense not to use it. I informed La Redoute of my difficulties and asked for a repayment plan to be set up, at all times I engaged with them. I used to order bits & pieces for my daughters & myself from the La Redoute catalogue & although it's years since I did so they still send me the small catalogue. A much larger catalogue is available if you request one &, unlike Next, they don't charge. They also have a website but I haven't been on there yet as I usually get an idea of of what they have by browsing their publications. I never recycle them before having a good look as I like to know the present & forthcoming fashions & with the company being French I feel they have a pretty good idea of what's 'hot'. DO NOT WASTE YOUR PRECIOUS TIME AND EFFORT ON THIS RIDICULOUSLY BAD COMPANY!

After moving house last year, i wrote to La Redoute and telephoned them to give my new address. I also requested copy statements in order to see what they "thought" they had sent me.

1) My address was updated but with the wrong house number (i have since discovered) and since i have not had any responses to my numerous letters even though they contain the CORRECT address, they have placed my account with a debt recovered agency!

I am utterly disgusted at the ordasity of this company and there utter disregard for customer service.

I am taking this to the small claims court. Please speak up if you have had a simelar experience! thank you.

AVOID LIKE SWINE FLU! Don't use this company, ever, never, walk away, turn your computer off, it will save you time, money and your sanity. They sent a flyer offering £15 off first order, so like a twit I went on my computer and ordered a few things. After putting in the code and my credit card details and ensuring the order was correct, the final confirmation screen came up with completely different items and no prices and no customer number. So i had paid for something I hadn't asked for didnt know what they had debited my card and couldnt email them with a customer number because it didnt generate one! I was furious.
