A Deal for those who have time to deal with returns (La Redoute)

Advantages: Cheap, good basics when they include the right item

Disadvantages: shady return policies, organizational issues

I was really excited about this store when I found it online. The clothes looked like great deals made out of great materials. I just received my first order and I must say I am very disappointed. Here the three reasons:

1) One of my items was supposed to be a violet mostly wool/angora/nylon blend. Instead, I received a grey and blue striped sweater that was 70% acrylic.
2) Another item I ordered was supposed to be a Wool/Mohair/Acrylic blend. Instead I received a mostly acrylic sweater with a bit of Mohair. They attached a card saying "they made this substitution of fabric for speed and were sure I'd be happy with it."
3) When I called to exchange, they said I would have to pay 7.99 to have the items I ordered shipped to me plus 5.95 to return.

So, to return to La Redoute I would have to pay almost $14 (which the lady argued with me to say it wasn't 14 but 13 something- fantastic customer service) more just to get the items I originally ordered. That's a 25% increase from my original order.

The items that were correct were nice basics. I think if I had a store near me I would consider going, but after my own experience and the reviews of others I recommend staying away from their online/catalog stores.

Summary: When it's right, it's right, but when it's wrong it's so wrong.
