Advantages: Some fantastic sales, no hassle with return policy, regular free gifts added to your order
Disadvantages: They don't always have items in stock as stated when you order
La Redoute is a French mail order company similar to Kays catalogue but with a younger outreach audience.
It now has a UK website on laredoute.co.uk
You can ask for a catalogue and will get it delivered free of charge unlike the Next catalogue.
There is one for Spring-Summer and one for Autumn-Winter.
I have mixed feelings on La Redoute. There have been times when the items I've ordered have been dispatched very shortly after the order but more times than enough there have been times when it has taken ages despite the website stating the item was in stock.
I have mentioned it to a La Redoute staff member over the phone to be told that unfortunately it is because the website only gets updated at midnight. I don't know if it's a valid excuse but never mind.
In all fairness I have nearly always been happy with the goods ordered as I feel they stand out a bit from other clothes brands.
The only time I wasn't satisfied, La Redoute arranged for a courier to collect the item free of charge and they replaced it with an item of my choice.
Another thing I don't like is that I do get a lot of emails sent to my email address with special offers on a more than regular basis!
And I do give in to temptation after a while.
My recent order was for some very funky bedding (double duvet cover + double flat sheet + 2 pillow cases) and a cute bath poncho for our little one. The total was a very reasonable £32 (postage included) and they'd added a watch and bracelet set as a present which did not look tacky or cheap. Nice touch!
Summary: Funky fashion with a bit of ouh la la

- 24/11/08 Yes that's exactly what I thought. I'm not sure whether they have it is stock in the first place. |

- 23/11/08 I work for a catalogue company and the website only being updated at midnight is probably true, but it's a case of having enough in stock in the first place. To have the same problem a lot, they must have some weird stocking going on, or some bad suppliers. |
