We all heard about La Senza going into administration but the website is being re-designed and they still have shops on the high street, all be it a few less than before. Im so glad La Senza is still with us, I just love wearing La Senza knickers. They always have cute ones in and I can never resist buying some whenever I go in and look around. I find the quality is better than average although they are a little pricey, its always a good idea to hit the La Senza sale when its on as most of the stock is reduced in price and you can pick up some real bargains. La Senza knickers are really comfy to wear and they last well. Ive been in to quite a few different La Senza stores and the staff are always keen to help no matter which store you go in. Im just so glad they are still with us.
I purchased 3 pairs of Pyjamas on line and received these no problem. The material used on one pair of pyjamas looked liked the were second hand. I returned the item and via the post office tracker noted they were delivered back to La Senza 2 days later. It has been 5 weeks and I still haven't had a response or a refund. I have emailed twice and still no response. Extremely poor service.
Being of a larger bust size, La Senza is quite disappointing in accomodating people of all bust sizes :(
There are not many high street lingerie brands in the UK market to be honest and it is very disappointing as La senza have colourful, desirable and reasonable bras, with different styles, such as balconette, T-shirt, maternity etc Before I had my daughter I was a more "commercial" size and I was a regular purchaser of their items because they always have special offers on their bras, (e.g 2 for £20, or knicker and bra set for £20 etc) resulting in looking luxurious looking underwear but at affordable prices. Even swimming costumes and bikinis used to be my appropriate bust size, in comparison to other stores where they are by "size" such as small/medium/large which is irrelevant to what I can wear! However, of course having breastfed, my bust has changed and I now have a very small back size (still 32) but a large cup size (FF) which they do not cater for. They have tried to adjust, telling me to go up a back size, and down a cup size to 34E but it is dramatically not the same, and as a result I have to look far and wide online to find a good fitting bra. I do love la senza but they need to widen their range to the bigger market!
I love la senza, the prices are fabulous and the items are good quality, nice designs and great choice. in fact i actually own pretty much every set in the shop. The nightwear is funky or sexy and so many desgins to choose from. the lingerie is great from every day tshirt bras to super sexy two piece sets. The bikinis have a bit to be desired but I am a picky peson when it comes to that. I like the fact that some of the items are only available online- makes it feel extra special.
I used to get asked it i wanted scented beads in the bag but not anymore, i think they have stopped doing that now unless you ask,but it was a great little extra. For an easy to find high street shop with great value for money and variety of choices i definatly LOVE la senza.
I personally don't go to La Senza much apart from to buy their 'pick & mix' underwear as I find it too expensive. I am only a student so Primark's bra prices are much more appealing, but I do tend to splurge.
I was fitted at La Senza when I was about 16 and once a year since then due to my mums curiosity as if you wear the wrong bra size it can be damaging to growing teens.
On my first fitting I was so nervous, I thought I would have to take my top & bra off so she could see everything to measure. Luckily, the girl who fitted me was only about 20 and very understanding of how embarrassed I was standing there. She let me keep my bra on and fitted me ontop of that. Although, because I had a padded bra, we deducted the number appropriately.
After getting my measurement, the sales assistant brought me a few pretty bra's that she thought I would like (as it was what other teens had also picked) and checked when I had each one on to make sure it fitted me properly. Due to the fact my back is 30, I have trouble finding bra's that fit me but she told me all styles they do that always have 30's. Meaning I always know where to look.
To my disappointment, no cheap shops like Primark stock bra's small enough to fit a 30 back meaning I do only buy bra's on a rare occasion from La Senza.
La Senza stock a large range of bras, knickers, swimwear (made in bra sizes for the perfect fit), pyjamas & nighties, even some more saucy numbers. You can find all of these in many sizes, styles and designs. I am never disappointed at the choice when I head into one of these shops! I was happy that I could find everything to suit my personality quickly and there is LOTS of pink!
All items are good quality and last a long time. I would advice reading the washing instructions as some cannot go into the wash like you would expect.
The only issue in my opinion is the price, which I have already touched on. You will struggle to find bra's for under £20, knickers are mostly in the '5 for £12' pick and mix section, but you may have to buy individually to get ones which match your bra. The one advantage is that they have regular sales where most bra's are 2 for £20 or £5 individually. This is when I normally buy mine.
Being a student, I get 10% off my purchases and they wrap your underwear (or whatever you buy) in pink tissue paper and give it to you in a cute black bag.
I find that you can almost always find your size, and if not they most probably have your size out the back. This means you rarely go home empty handed. The sales assistants are very good at persuading you to buy more than you went in for.
I would highly recommend La Senza if you are willing to splash out to feel good in your undies, or even for a stop every now and then in the sale. Everything is so well made and gorgeous - you will struggle to say no!
For some women its shoes, handbags for me its underwear I'm an addict I have lost count of the amount of knickers that Ive got but I just enjoy buying them.
I have always liked La Senza but being on the big chested size i sometimes struggle with their sizing I used to be a F size but then they were too small I was really happy when they introduced the G size but the choice is limited.
I recently went and purchased 3 bras from La Senza in 3 different sizes they were in the sale, the original prices ranged from £12-£16 but i got them for £5 each great bargain.
The quality is good from La Senza so I would pay that bit extra and the styles are nice but I do find that some styles are only available in certain sizes.
They have an extensive range of knickers/thongs and shorts as well as normally run an offer of 5 for £12
sizes run from 8-18 and 30A- 40GG
They also sell nightwear, swimwear and socks plus accessories such as bra straps, keyrings and little gift sets.
Its a great shop if you want something a bit special or different.
I have been a customer of la senza for a few years now and have become more and more a fan each time I shop.
I shop online and in stores but this review is about the shops in particular the one in Plymouth, Devon.
The store can be found in the relatively new shopping mall in the centre of Plymouth, I beleive it is on the second floor. It sells lingerie, loungewear, nightwear and accesories such as slippers, eye masks, perfumes and more.
The shop itself can be considered crampt as it is not the largest of shops and does cram a lot into it. But this means that you have a huge selection to choose from. Everything from everyday basic t shirt bras and comfy knickers to sexy lace teddies and silk gowns.
The bras come in a large range for all sizes and shapes and if you are unsure there is an excellent fitting service available.
The choice of style is extensive and colour even moreso with new styles coming out every few weeks. And new colours as well. I recently purchased the lucy lace set in blue and now have 3 other colours as I found it so comfortable.
The bras themselves are comfortable and stylish as well as sexy or practical depending which your after. The nightwear is extensive covering everything from lace teddies to fleece pyjamas and all you can think inbetween. With some very cute shorts summer pj sets.
The knickers are good available in many sizes and cover both comfy or sexy with matching set of pretty much everything available.
And now you can even get perfume and bra strap adjusters and slippers and so on.
Basically anything you could think of in terms of underwear or casual wear you can find in instore.
The products themselves are comfortable and well wearing. A good fitting set being comfortable after months of extensive wear.
The shop service is also good. Pleasant helpful staff that are very attentive many times iv had them check the stores for different sizes and they have always been more than willing to help out.
The fitting service is good. The store has a few changing rooms in the back and if you ask a member of staff they will come in a measure you for nothing. It is only women and they measure you in your current bra so you do not have to worry about exposing yourself.
The rooms come with fresh clean white gowns allowing you to go in and out of the rooms to collect different bras to try on without getting dressed and undressed each time. Or if you do not wish to do this the staff are happy to fetch items for you. And are always there to lend a hand and advice with styles. I used to wear plunge bras as I have a lot of v neck t shirts and was advised to swap to balconnette due to my bust size and they were right its much more comfortable and holds so much better. They are worth listening to.
Overall I give this store a 9/10.
The only let down is its size. The staff are helpful the place is pleasant the produce is excellent and extensive.
Returns are possible of unworn items to any store.
I recently started going to this store and decided to make the most of their free bra fitting service. I felt totally at ease at first, but after a while I felt as though I was wasting their time. The girl who did my fitting was encouraging me to try on other styles which obviously didn't go down well with the manager who was urging her to hurry up. I could overhear them which is always uncomfortable. I was glad to finally be out of the fitting rooms. It immediately struck me as one of those stores where the staff are extremely fake but extremely nice to your face. Almost too nice.
The actual bras and briefs that they stock in La Senza are quite nice. There's nothing in there which stands out and nothing which really takes your breath away. But there are simple and effortless styles which look and feel fab.
I tend to only go to this store every once in a while because as much as I like this store, it costs too much to get bra and brief sets. And as a student, money is better spent on other things. But as a treat, I love this store. However, La Senza are doing a Christmas loyalty card whereby you get a stamp everytime you purchase something more than £25. And 6 stamps gets you £20 off a christmas gift. So that's always nice to have. However, I somehow doubt that I'll be purchasing that much between now and Christmas so in that respect, it's not all that great. It would have been perfect as a eyarly loyalty card rather than just a Christmas one.
When you purchase lingerie at La Senza, you can choose to have it gift wrapped for free. They'll put it into a black box with pink tissue paper. It looks very presentable. And you can have a pink scented bead bag put in there as well which you can then use to put in your underwear drawer. I was told that these bead bags were free, but I had to pay £1 for mine so I'm not sure whether I was wrongly informed, whether they've now changed it, or whether they vary from store to store.
The La Senza bag looks very expensive and it has the sexy pink on black style. I find that the bag doesn't really need to be as big as it is, it gets a little uncomfortable walking back to uni carrying a massive bag with 'La Senza' plastered over it.
La Senza is a lingerie retailer who sell their items via their high street shops and their online store. I have done all my shopping with La Senza in their shops so I will be reviewing them based on that.
The shops often feel quite small and trying to get around when its busy (like when they have a sale on their bras for £5) it can be a little harder to move around. But they do cram quite a large selection into the shop. The staff are also usually pleasant and the bag you get your purchases in is usually nicely presented. You used to get beads in your bags but everytime I have been in recently they haven't had them.
La Senza sell basic underwear to more 'sexy' items. They generally have a wide selection and usually have offers on. They also do enhancing bras. All (or at least most) of their bras have matching knickers. They also sell a selection of nightware and gifts. Their products are of good quality and are quite reasonably priced for the quality. Generally you can find their bras from around £14-20 though they usually have promotions on.
Though they generally have a wide selection I don't like the majority of their underwear. This is just my opinion though and of course is down to taste. However the bras I have liked from this shop are a few of my favourites.
Other than styles I do often have a problem of them not having my size which is usually due to the bras not going up that far (thanks to my awkward size) so if you have larger bra size I wouldn't advise spending a lot of time in store but it may be worth checking out. Either way I recommend trying the bras on before buying to ensure that they fit correctly. They offer a bra fitting service if you want to get fitted and it is free.
Overall I enjoy La Senza apart from finding bras that I like and are in my size. I would recommend them though especially for nicer underwear.
La Senza is a relatively well known underwear and lingerie shop which I would say caters from the mid to the high end of the market.
What do they sell?
Bra's (up to a 40GG), knickers (up to a 20), nightwear, swimwear, bridal lingerie, hosiery and accessories (eg. garters).
The items range from the everyday, such as tshirt bras, to fancy lingerie for special occassions.
Where are they and what are the stores like?
La Senza stores can be found in a number of highstreets although I would say there are less of them than there are Ann Summers stores. The stores are usually relatively small and as such they don't carry the full range of stock as seen on their website, however they are kept clean, tidy and the stock is strategically placed. There is a fitting service available, although I've never used it personally. When you buy anything they will ask if you want it gift wrapped (they place it in a named box with tissue paper) and they also give you very nice paper bags with cord handles.
In my experience the staff are very friendly and always happy to help. There's always someone behind the till and usually someone on the shop floor if you have any queries.
What's the quality like?
I've bought lingerie from a number of shops in the past and have to say that the best quality items are from La Senza - infact I still have all the lingerie (mainly bras) I've bought from there, even though some of it is several years old, because it has stood up well to the test of time. The stitching is good, high quality materials are used and the overall look is one of quality.
What sort of prices are the items?
As I said at the beginning of this review, I'd class La Senza as catering to the mid - high end of the market, although prices vary greatly depending on what you buy eg. some bra's are £12 whereas some are £25. They usually have special offers on their knickers such as 5 for £12 which makes them on par with Primark prices but much better quality!
I used to work for Ryman so I was lucky because that gave me employee discount at La Senza (it used to be owned by Theo, who owns Ryman) so I was often shopping in La Senza as I got a heavy discount.
Even without some form of employee discount to bring the prices down, they do have regular sales that offer very good discounts on items - I've seen some very nice bras marked down to half price.
I've never ordered from here so I can't tell you what it's like for delivery times etc, but the plus point of ordering from their website is that you have their full range of stock to choose from and you apparently get free delivery if you spend over £40. The website also has a store finder so you can easily locate your nearest shop if you're not sure where one is.
Ive always enjoyed shopping here, but very rarely buy anything as its quite expensive. They have a range of underwear, nightwear, swim wear, bridal and hosiery. Sizes range from roughly a 6 to an 18.
Its quite expensive and some items such as dressing gowns can reach prices of £55 which is an awful lot for a dressing gown. They have a fantastic range of silk and satin which starts around prices of £20 which isn't to expensive for a gorgeous silk nighty. They bring out alot of offers and the most recent ive seen is 5 pairs of either briefs, thongs, shorts or girly boxers for £12.
They take alot of care over there items and once purched they gift wrap your item in tissue paper, put it in a very stylish bag with some beads and put a la senza sticker to seal it up. They have done this in every la senza ive been to and i enjoy it although if your in a hurry its not the best thing. But if your buying it as a gift its always handy to have it pre wrapped.
The quality of la senza items have always been very high and ive had items that lasted me years and still looked new. However the sizes come up very small. Im usually a size 6 and struggle to fit into a size 8 here so i would recommend you try things on before you buy. You can also order online and get free delivery once you spend over £40 which i find very easy here. You can also have it free git wrapped.
All in all this is a gorgeous shop full of very sexy clothes and would recommend to all :) Or girls you can always hint out to a partner for your birthday or christmas
La senza is a well known and trusted high street lingerie brand which offers a great array of products.
To start with, the products are affordable and I have always appreciated the fact that they offer more pricey and luxurious items for special occasions (bras priced around £20 and knickers at around £8), as well as cheap, everyday bras (starting at just £10).
Despite the differing prices, all products have good quality in common. I can testify that they will literally last years and wash very well. In fact, while hand washing is recommended by the company it is not necessary in my view.
The bras and knickers come in a realistic range of sizes and cater for even the most awkward of sizes in the majority of the designs. They also offer a fitting service and their all-female team are approachable, knowledgeable and friendly. My only criticism would be the fact that the designs can be repetitive, and I have noticed that they still sell the same design of bra which I bought several years ago. But why change something that works well? And La Senza lingerie definitely does!
I was so impressed with my experience in La Senza that I am now a very loyal customer. Until Christmas 2009 I hadn't ever set foot in one but I had some Chirstmas money to spend on Boxing Day so decided to treat myself.
The store I went to (Solihull) was slightly cramped with all the rails but to be fair there were Boxing Day crowds everywhere. They have a great range of bras in lots of styles and colours. They seemed to have a good range of sizes to me, but I am fortunate that I am a pretty average size so perhaps for the more obscure sizes they aren't so well stocked (I didn't check obviously as I didn't know then I would be reviewing it in a few months time!).
I had recently lost weight and I knew my bras weren't fitting properly, I approached the girl at the till and asked for a fitting, I was sent straight to the fitting room where someone saw me straight away. We had a chat about the sort of thing I was after and where I thought my current bra wasn't fitting me well. This girl was amazing! She spent about 40 minutes with me bringing me bra after bra after bra until we found the perfect fit.
I didn't actually purchase a bra instore that day as I was with my boyfriend and there was so much choice I would have wanted to look for a fair while and he would have got bored. I did buy a gorgeous, blue striped "boyfriend" sleep shirt which is my favourite thing to sleep in now. At the till they were efficient, bright and helpful. My purchase was wrapped in tissue paper and placed in a bag with scented beads, a really nice touch I thought, it's little things like this that will make me revisit a store.
On returning home I went straight on the La Senza website and purchased two bras with matching pants. The website was quick and easy to use and their returns policy seemed good although I did not need to use it myself. My order arrived super quick and it was again wrapped in tissue with those little scented beads in the package.
Subsequent purhcaes from La Senza have gone just as well and I am now a very loyal customer. I wish I had got the name of the girl who spent those 40 minutes with me on Boxing Day as I really shold have written to corporate to inform them how helpful she was!
La senza is a company that sells underwear, pyjamas and swim wear. They also sell extra's like gel enhancers etc. La senza isn't in every town, and me and my friends make the trip two towns over more or less just to go to this store, proof of how much effort we make just to go there.
When I first went into La senza I couldn't believe all the different types of bra available. I knew there were a few different types; push up, t-shirt, balconette, but La senza really have a massive variety of styles and sizes to choose from.
You can get fitted for free at La senza and that's what I did, I found the lady who did it very professional and appropriate and the staff as a whole were happy to help and friendly.
I decided on buying a plain white push up bra for £10. It didn't have anything special about it, so for £10 I thought it was quite reasonable. I did find some of the things in there to be a little pricey, but when you try the bras on you can tell why; their fit, comfort and the bra itself is worth paying for. Every girl should have decent underwear and La senza does just that.
What did I think?
I think that you have to be careful what you buy, I wouldn't necessarily buy pyjamas from there or maybe even the knickers if I'm buying a plain white or black bra, but La senza are specialists in what they do and the price you pay reflects this. You do have to be careful in how you wash the bras and how you let them dry; I didnt make sure mine was shaped right as it dried and is now a little mishapen. Going to La senza is worth even a look if you want correctly fitting underwear.
This is an amazing high street store, it can be found in most bigger cities or towns, and shopping centres.
It has an excellent layout of the shop which is easily accessable for a wheelchair or pram, it has a very good selection of lingerie and accessories, it has beautiful colours and the quality is very good value.
They are a little expensive with some of the items but most of them are at a good price but the pyjamas are a very good quality and amazing price, I paid £12 when I bought mine, I bought my daughter some for christmas a couple of years ago and she loved them that much, I bought her 2 pairs last year, although her previous ones from me she is still wearing as they are a very good quality, they wash very well in a washing machine. I found them to be the same price last year so was well happy.
I used to pass this shop and think I do like my lingerie but cannot afford their prices and so overlooked it and walked by, but one year my children bought me a birthday voucher for this shop and so I had to go and spend it at some point, and I am very glad I did because I found once inside they were not as highly priced as I first thought.
They sell bras and knickers, some which match, they sell slippers, pyjamas, thongs, nighties, bodices, tights and lots of other little things, and at christmas or valentines day they do a very good display of items for your special loved one.
If you cannot decide what to buy for someone from this shop the gift vouchers are brilliant, they can be used whenever you need them and what I do now is I buy one a couple of months apart and then the cost of christmas is not so high for me and I go to the different shops I love to buy from and put them away for the festive season or birthday, as we do not always know what to buy someone do we.
The outside of this shop looks very good, it has nice mannequins in the windows and they are dressed in the lingerie or other items to display them.
I find the lighting in this shop excellent and bright so can see the pretty colours better and they have nice little stands that sell the accessories and they are shown better in a good light, so I like that.
The prices are very good the knickers can start from as low as £4 upwards and the sale items are just at amazing prices.
Their returns policy is excellent too and the customer service is good.
The staff are very friendly also.
I find that lingerie is not an item that goes out of fashion and when we buy it, it can be in that fashion for a good few years without fading like some items do.
I now wished I had gone into this store alot sooner as I think it has some very good bargains and the prices are very good. I recommend anyone to try this shop first and make your own opinion for yourself.
I give this a 5 star rating.
