La Senza is a shop that sells lingerie and nightwear. The company originated in Canada but made its way over here a few years ago. It is owned by Theo Paphitis, the well lnown Dragons' Den star. Previoulsy sales were sluggish but once he took over he made some changes and the sales started to pick up. It is now considererd a success story, and is doing well even in these difficlult financial times. Perhaps people who feel they can't afford a whole new outfit, decide to go and buy themselves a little something instead.

The stores can be found in most major towns, often in shopping centres. Until recently they were all decorated in cream which I rather liked but now they all have a purple and black theme which I'm not so keen on. Store layouts are pretty much constant. Around the walls on hanging rails are the matching sets of bras and knickers. Promotional ranges tend to be placed at the front of the strore and the rest of the wall is for the non-promotion sets. They also have stands for slippers, and nightwear and they have tables of mix and match underwear. Changing rooms are normally toward the back.

Staff are pleasant and will go look for other sizes if needed. There are ony two tills normally so it can take a while to be served due to all the folding required and de-tagging. There is sometimes someone on the fitting rooms who will limit the number of items you can take in at one time, which is 6. Sometimes if there is no-one about I just wander in. You can return items if in original condition with tags intact.

I don't buy the nightwear that often, but they offer traditonal pyjamas, short and vest outfits, robes, and silky nightdresses and slips. They cost roughly £20. Some of the designs are more grown up but some are cartoony and fun. (They do however have these fantastic new things called duvet boots which are like big fat duvet style slippers for bed - so toasty.)

They also do accessories such as scented bead bags, pop socks, quilted hangers and such like which might make nice stocking fillers. They normally have a few trinkets around the till alongside the gift card stand.

The main thing I like about La Senza is their lingerie. It comes in lots of designs and fabrics, ranging from red silk to pink cotton, from black lace, to white t-shirt bras. They have pretty much every option covered. They range in price from £7.50 in the basics range to £25 for the elaborate silk styles. La Senza categorise into Essentials, Beautiful Basics, Gorgeous and Girly, Sexy and Pure Luxury. They have matching underwear with most bras. They give two choices e.g. knickers or thong to match the bra. Prices go from £6 to £14. Quality is reasonable, I have had three wire breakings over time but i've bought loads there so proprtionately it's not so bad. They offer a good range of sizes going up to G I think but not all designs come in every size unfortunately which can be irritating.

They also often have offers. Favourites there include 5 for £12 knickers and 2 for £20 on bras. Nightwear someetimes goes BOGOF. They have a summer slale and also have the traditional Boxing day Sales which offer some good bargains though the shops get incredibly busy.

I like this shop a lot and it is always part of a visit to the shops. Highly worth a visit.
