Newest Review: ... can find some big brand names that you see at the supermarkets to on offer at Lidl. My first shopping visit here was over a week back and it went well to be honest. I looked around and could find plenty of value products on sale here including cheap fruit and vegetables. Beans, Fruit, Chocolates, Biscuits and some drinks were just some of the many cheaper items I found on sale here. Lidl is a small supermarket and never expect them to hire much staff here. I hardly found any staff workers around the store to help me at all, I had to look for all the items my self. There was only a security guard around and that was about it. A disadvanta... more

If you think you spend too much at the big supermarkets you should shop at Lidl. I was thinking each time I come to Asda I end up spending over 30 quid and lets give it a shot at Lidl now. Lidl is basically a smaller supermarket than the big ones but it does sell plenty of groceries and products to. They sell mostly european products but you can find some big brand names that you see at the supermarkets to on offer at Lidl. It has been said that you know your in trouble if you can afford to shop at lidls. The now well established german originated supermarket chain has now cropped up all over the country. Lidls is basically a no frills store that aims to provide goods at cheap prices. However I have just found after moving house that not all the stores are consistent in their prices. With my now local st austell store being more expensive on everyday products such as vegetables and tinned goods that the saltash store. So watch out for that. Premium Review Lidl: Great Value but somewhat inconvenient (444 words)

Lidl is a german discount supermarket which has made a big impact on the UK high street, whether you shop there or not they have probably had some impact on your shopping experience as they've forced the other supermarkets to think about pricing policies and cater for different markets including discount brands for people on a lower income. Lidl's have a number of stores throughout the UK, my local store is close to amenities, has a car park behind it and is a reasonably large size. When you enter the store there are no baskets so if you don't pay the £1 to get a trolley you have the inconvenience of carrying around your stuff which is off-putting ...  Read the complete review

Hints and tips to improve your shopping expereince at the discount grocery shopping supermarket chain Lidl: - Take a pound coin with you to release one of their shopping trollies. Lidl provides no baskets. - In lieu of a basket (if you're not doing a 'big shop') you might do as other seasoned Lidl shoppers do, and try to use the flimsy cardboard packaging taken from some of Lidl's on-shelf goods to contain your shopping. - Take some resuable / longlife poly bags with you. Lidl charges you 9p for a robust-looking polythene bag that'll unfortunately rip like tissue paper the moment you put anything in it. - Be prepared to wait for quite a while ...  Read the complete review

There is more than one thing about Lidl that attracts me. Though I shop in Tesco and Sainsbury, I tend to look forward to going to Lidl. I think it's the selection of foodstuff that is not commonly found locally and the weekly offers. What I like about Lidl? Chocolates selection- The Amazonian Dark Chocolate at 64% is my favourite buy. It's not only inexpensive as compared to other dark chocolate brands (89p), it's also less bitter. Fruit and Vegetables- Most of their fruit and vegetables selection are cheaper especially those that are in season. However, it is important to check the fruit and vegetables as very often you can find over ...  Read the complete review
