Great for deals (Lidl)

Advantages: Good deals and fresh food

Disadvantages: Cannot do a weekly shop in the store

These stores seem to be built practically overnight. I know that up where I live it only took a couple of months for them to build and open the store. They take workmen from Germany over here to build for them and they seem to work all day and night.

The store itself is good with great prices and always have offers on which change twice a week - on a Monday and a Thursday. They have loads of different items on offer. From clothes and shoes to furniture and motorbike equipment. The offers are always fantastic value and I've bought plenty items from them in the past that I've never been disappointed with.

They have a website that you can check what is currently on offer and what will be on offer in the next week. It's great to be able to see this before going down to the store and that way you won't miss out on something you've been waiting for.

The store itself is a good size, They don't have proper shelves like other stores, there is a few shelves though. Things seem to be out in boxes which works just as well as shelves. The aisles are nice and wide so you don't ever get caught up behind other people.

A lot of the items are in a different language so can be quite hard to understand whats actually in some of the packets. Their fruit is very fresh and at a good price, a lot more fresh than any other convenience store. The meat is very fresh and well priced as well. Some really great items in this store and definately a cheap shop.

The staff seem friendly and are always about the store, with my local store not being that busy you quite often find that you have to go and find the staff to serve you at the till as they are usually not standing at the till.

I don't think there is enough in the store to be able to do a weekly shop but it's good to pick up some cheap deals on food and non food items.
