Advantages: Good Prices, Good Quality

Disadvantages: Not a massive range

Lidl (pronounced Lee-Dul) is a geman supermarket chain which seems to be sprouting up everywhere nowadays. It has been in the UK for well over a decade but has always had an image of a bargain basement supermarket.
This image has persisted because the majority of people continued to pay more in stores like Tesco and Sainsbury, under the impression that higher price must mean better quality (rather than higher profit margins)
Now that more people are coming thorugh the door they are starting to realise that you can buy quality produce at a reasonable price, and still get some of the 'brand' names. In Germany Lidl is considered to be the upmarket store, unlike its rival Aldi. Yet both still offer exceptional quality for the prices that they charge.
Although the range is not a massive you are still able to get the basics and kit out your cupboard, finding that living in the credit crunch era need not cost the earth.
Try it today and you will probably find yourself returning every week!
