You can save a fortune if you are selective (Lidl)

Advantages: Good discounts on staples Disadvantages: You have to remember the bags
Have recently started shopping at Lidl on an reasonably regular basis. I alternate between Sainsburys when I am feeling a bit flush with alternate weeks at Lidl to keep costs low. I have been pleasantly supprised by many of the things that I buy from Lidl's. I am especially please with the cheeses that they offer and things like bacon and lardons for cooking. The look of the shop can be a bit off putting as it initial appears a bit scruffy, but the prices are exceptionally good. I recently brought 8 rolls of Bounty or whatever it is know as now for £3.60, which is unbelievably cheap. We use a lot of kitchen roll in our house and at the price it is a bargain. They do a ready made lasagne that is huge and plenty for two and it only costs about £2.50. I also buy their iceberg lettuces especially when they reduce them down to 40p cos I feed them to my ducks who love them. I think that you have to be a bit selective when buying and stick to what you actually like, but it can save you a fortune. Summary: A lot of good quality food here |
