Advantages: Their lasagne is gorgeous, they have some good deals
Disadvantages: Rude staff, understaffed, some products taste horrible, long queues
I started shopping in Lidl a few years ago and thought it was great at the start. A friend recommended it to me and said it was really cheap so i started going to it to get some good bargains.
Lidl is a german store that started in the 1930s but has just celebrated its 15th year of trading in the UK.
My favourite thing to buy in Lidl would be their fruit and veg. They have some great prices compared to places like Tesco and Asda. Anytime i want to lose weight, i go to Lidl to stock up on loads of fruit.
They display their fruit on just normal wooden stands so sometimes it goes off very quickly. I think they need to store it in a cooler place like a refrigerated area as there is no point in buying cheap fruit just for it to rot a few days later.
The last few years ive found Lidl to be very hit and miss. Some of their products you buy are lovely while some are completely tasteless and bland. Some of the things in Lidl are very cheap and tacky like shoes and tool sets that they sometimes sell.
My favourite product in Lidl is their Fresh Lasagne. It costs around £2.79 but is the nicest Lasagne i have ever tasted, even better than those you can get in restaurants. Its gorgeous, i definitely recommend it.
The most irritating thing abuot Lidl is the fact that anytime i go there, they only have one till open and the staff can be quite rude. Its usually busy so you have to be prepared to stand and queue for ages.
You also have to buy your own plastic bags which i think is a bit of a rip off.
