Good for One Offs (Lidl)

Advantages: Some Great Deals

Disadvantages: Not a Nice Place to Shop Generally

Lidl, isnt a place that I would recommend you do your main shop at. But then again that is just my opinion. I really do have mixed feelings about this shop, so I think the best thing to do is to list the advantages and disadvantages of shopping in this place so as to give it a good shot at a fair review.

Lets start with the adantages:
OK, there can be some AMAZING DEALS at this place - my house mate is quite a cola addict, and generally will drink a 2 litre bottle in about 2 days - walking past a few weeks ago, I noticed that they were selling 2 litre bottles of Pepsi for 50p each - she of course ran over and brought home ten! That was a really great deal and ended up saving us a lot of money.

At the moment the offer is on dishwasher tablets, 50% extra free and £2 of the RRP! Its things like these that make Lidl worth it!

My housemate is also very partial to their chocolate secection, I am not a great chocolate lover though - so cant comment on that part.

Now for the disadvantages, Ok, so you walking in, and you have to be careful what you choose - I am not a snob, but I wouldnt feel 100% happy about eating alot of the produce, as the majority of them do not come from manafacturers or brand names that I am familiar with and the look of the packaging looks rather cheap. There is no music in this store, and any lidl I have been into is poorly lit.

At the check outs there always seem to be massive queues, and you have to pay for your plastic bags.

Overall, I think my opinion is that occassionally there will be an amazing deal which will appeal to certain people, and could potentially save them a little bit of money. However, for someone who is used to having a weekly shop at a retailer shuch as morrisions or sainsburys, I dont think they are going to be happy shopping full time at this store.
