Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Poor Service, Badly trained staff, Useless Head Office
I had a problem with overcharging at a Lidl store that I did not notice until I arrived home. That was when the problems started!! All Lidl stores are ex directory and they do not print their telephone number on till receipts....they are too busy to deal with customers telephoning them,I was told! I wrote to the store concerned and it was ignored....I wrote to the Head Office and that too was ignored....I faxed the M.D. and got a telephone call from an assistant who said he would 'phone me back...he did to tell me his Boss was away and he would contact me again..he did not. Eventually I went back to the store(a 30 mile round trip)to be told they had no record of my complaint...they do not deal with complaints as they are all sent to Head Office!!.....I managed to persuade the Assistant Manager to telephone Head Office but he obviously though I was a troublemaker. The end result was I got my money back and they gave me a bottle of wine "for my troubles"....I was just glad to get out of the place. If you are buying anything whatsover that could break down be very wary of buying it from Lidl as they store WILL NOT deal with any complaint....you are warned

- 28/08/01 Umm, yes I agree other things need adding, but this serves as a good warning to others. It is a shame, but many companies that offer cheap goods, make savings by just ignoring customer complaints, or making it hard to complain so the customer gives up. |

- 27/08/01 What you say is a good point to make in an opinion but you really need to mention other things too such as what they sell, prices, service in the store etc. If you add to this opinion and let me know I'm happy to reread and rerate. |

- 27/08/01 Though looking at the quality of the stuff they sell, I'm not surprised that they don't have a complaints line! :-) |
