i hear lidl get some of their veg from Chernobyl is this true?
i got the information in Germany from a very reliable source
if it is fact why are we not told this in supermarkets,
i dont like them anyway,
i prefer to support local business.
the supermarket has caused of the community to collapse
it used to be a meeting point {the local shop} now they are gone
out priced by big business

I recently purchased a Parkside Stapler/Nail Gun Model PET23 Vario Model KH3145 from the Shirley, Southampton Branch of Lidl.
Could anyone tell me where I can obtain supplies for this item. I am looking for Staples Type. 53, Staples Type55 and Brads Type 47. All DIY suppliers I have tried only appear to sell these in type 18 guage which is to heavy for my unit.

Lidl is great for some things, but not so good for others! It is fine for the basics, but I certainly wouldn't trust their meats as they probably aren't the best quality, and that is why its so cheap! When you hear of reputable shops like tesco failing to keep their refridgerators at the right temperature, it makes you wonder how good Lidl ...  Read the complete review

Lidl was created before the 2nd World War in Germany at a time when the country was going through huge economic problems, which would eventually lead to the Nazi taking over. Their idea was to bring basic household items and food to cash stripped families, which were seeing the value of their money being eroded every day by the rampant ...  Read the complete review

I'm definitely a Lidl man. I heard on BBC Radio 4 that at times, Lidl are the largest computer retailers in the UK. They get loads of PCs (laptops or desktops), deliver about 2 each to every Lidl, advertise them in their flyers at silly prices to get people into the stores so if you see people sleeping outside a Lidl, you know it's "cheap PC ...  Read the complete review

i have worked at lidl in the past and it was hard work which is something that the customers dnt realise.i have read some reviews on other sites and there were people complaining that they wudnt recieve that kind of service in any other supermarket.no they wudnt, because lidl is a discount food store not a supermarket.people are moaning abt having to pack thier own bags, i pack mu own at iceland, asda, sainsburies and every where i buy food or any other goods.so whats thier problem? and as for using a pound for a trolley, its to stop little chavs stealing them, paying for bags helps the environment because people bring thier own. one thing that used to really puch my buttons was the people moaning abt the lack of staff to me.id say if i was the district manager then id hire some more but im not.cretins.

There is a Lidl not far from where I live and I can say I am a regular client of them. I buy basic items like fruit juice, I like the Tropical one, jogurths, bacon. You have very little choice of goods at Lidls, but prices are very competitve. I suggest you give it a try if you do not know it. It has improved in the last few ...  Read the complete review

Lidl Rushden (175 words)
by Linda Bobowicz - written on 09/02/08

This must be a nationwide fault with Lidl's . Lidl in Rushden have the worst attitude to customers by their staff, it is too much effort for them to be civil in their dealings at the check out. This resulted in me leaving my shopping on the belt and walking out vowing never to return to a Lidl store again. The few pounds saved by ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Lidl

Both Lidl and Aldi stores provide good quality products at remarkably low prices, which only goes to show how the other supermarkets are ripping off the public.
As mentioned elsewhere,it is annoying to make a special trip to buy one of their special offers, only to discover that they have none in stock on the specified day.
In common with other supermarkets such as Morrisons, ASDA, and suchlike they are all lousy employers who need to be Unionised with red hot shop stewards capable of keeping the bosses in line. Far to much is expected of the staff and it is quite understandable that some staff couldn't give a stuff if they upset customers.
If you want more upmarket service, go to Waitrose, and pay the price.

I think Lidl is brilliant brilliant. The stuff they sell is normally pretty good quality and the prices are excellent. I shop in there at least once a week, and the staff are always helpful i have found and they are always working their backsides off. I feel sorry for the staff sometimes because even though they are paid quite well, they always ...  Read the complete review

I am a deputy manager in a Lidl store and I would like to tell the general public just what it is like to work there. The particular store I work in is currently internally ranked highly in audits from a customer perspective, so I speak from a position of experience. I have always been one to like a bargain and something different and this is exactly what I find when shopping at Lidl. It is not a shop I would ever go near in the past though which I find quite funny as I used to be more snobby and just thought it was full of cheap food. However, lately I have been recommended this place by a lot of friends and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Lidl: Where has the Cien Body Lotion Gone? (81 words)
by - written on 28/07/07 (Somewhat useful, 593 readings)

Lidls is by far the very best shop where money becomes elastic and buys an immeasurable amount of quality goodies for half the price of Tescos. However, suddenly, the 500ml bottles of Cien Body Lotion with Avocado Oil or with Almond Oil no longer appear on the Lidl shelves in Hayle and Penzance in Cornwall, UK. This superior quality ...  Read the complete review

Hi all. I have noticed a lot of people on the site have been dissing lidl in terms of its customer service, and having no 'perks' to the shopping. I am a manager at a branch and as so can give you some info on why this is the case. Why do we have so few staff? we hire good quality staff who work hard and long. Predominantly this ...  Read the complete review

Limavady Lidl has the most ignorant and unhelpfulness staff but reading some of these reviews it seems they all have the same problem.

There is a senior female member of staff in Limavady who swears and verbally abuses her work colleagues and how she ever got into this role is beyond me!!

Her abrupt and disgraceful manner would put anyone off using the store

I started using lidl 2 years ago after receiving a flyer through the post, I went in there, and was surprised at the stuff they have in there, but if you want the offers you have to be an early bird, as if you get in there late there is usually nothing left. I have brought tools, car equipment, and various other bits and pieces. I have to say ...  Read the complete review
