Londis Reviews

Newest Review: ... pay by card, it'd be an extra £1. This is ludacris from a chain store as large as Londis, even independent stores rarely charge £1 for using card. Low and behold I caved in as I did not fancy walking to the Co-Op after already been in Londis to buy Fanta. After this you would guess that the cashier would offer you a bag, well not in Londis. The man simply handed me a receipt and said goodbye. Why people would want a Londis near them is beyond me, I would much rather a Tesco Express than an independent store or Londis. People need to get over the essence that independent stores, or stores like Londis, are the spirit of a town because they a... more

It's Sunday, so it's a day when all other stores are closed, therefore I decided that I would take a nice long walk to a Londis Store as every other store on a Sunday was more than the 35 minute walk to get to Londis. Upon arrival, I was immediately disappointed by the layout of the store with no signs to the aisles showing what is where. It was only a small store, 5 aisles max, but it would of still helped knowing where everything is. All I needed was a bottle of Fanta, which was priced at £2.19. Fanta in Asda is £1, so it was already massively overpriced. However upon getting to the checkout I was greeted by a very rude cashier who explained to me how if I ... Read the complete review

Londis is part of a relatively small supermarket chain and there are many Londis stores dotted around the UK. Londis is pretty much a 'convenience' store, and therefore sells a small selection of everyday items that you might need such as milk, bread, newspapers, toilet roll, baked beans etc. They also usually sell other items such as soft drinks and alcohol. The main negative thing I have to say about Londis is that whatever you buy from there always tends to be a little on the expensive side. This is true for all items except those which would have a fixed price such as newspapers and magazines. But if you wanted to get a can of baked beans for example, you ... Read the complete review

I used to work at a Londis and so have some insight into the runnings of the store and the dynamics of the shop. The Londis chain is a small supermarket which prides itself on offering value for money and a point of convenience. However with the expansion of much larger supermarkets there is always an Asda or Tesco not far away and thus prices cannot be matched, however Londis seems to have a large customer base, mainly the eldery and people who may not have the means to shop anywhere but the local Londis, but the largest percentage of Londis customers are those individuals who just want a few things such as daily items like break, milk and the newspaper and smoking ... A little Londis which I use about once a week, is an ideal corner shop. Seaming quite expensive before, it now has a cheaper brand of stock. It also sells you general food supply: milk, bread, ham, cheese, tea, coffee, sugar. Also having alcohol and mine even has a DVD rental service. Londis is good for the odd bits, but I would be able to shop there for everything, as there is not enough choice and it's cheaper in other shops. They do have offers on at time, such as: 3 selected chocolate bars for £1. Mine also tends to have a few packs of biscuits in a basket offered cheaper. Can's of pop have some cheap deals on at time like some for ... Read the complete review

Every week we do a main shopping trip into the "big" town to do all our shopping but like a lot of dooyooers reading this there is always something we have forgotten or run out of during the week. This is when we are pleased that we have a Londis supermarket, albeit only a small shop, near us. What do they sell Our Londis does a little of a lot! They have their own brand in many items. A small stock of Tinned food, bakery, butchers, dairy, papers and magazines, cards and stationery, cigarettes and drink, videos and DVDs and CDs, rentals and frozen food. plus fruit and vegetables. You might not find the brand that you usually have but ... Read the complete review
