Advantages: Spread payment, Plenty of clothes to pick from
Disadvantages: End up ordering too much!
The reason for the title is that my husband's opinion of this catalogue is that there's not much by way of male fashion and not enough gifts! But, if you're female and interested in a catalogue for clothes rather than anything else, then this is one of the good ones! The whole first section of the catalogue is dedicated to female fashion (I think most catalogues start like that), and the styles seem to mature the further you go through! It covers the whole spectrum; casuals, smart, glamorous, underwear, swimwear, shoes, trainers and sportswear. And it includes big designer labels as well as the catalogues own brands; you have Levi's, Oasis, Nick Coleman, Morgan, DKNY, to name but a few. The prices obviously go up for the designer labels but the catalogue products are very reasonably priced indeed, and if you wait until you get a sale sheet you can get many items at quite a reduction. I recently ordered from my Spring/Summer catalogue but I'd lost my sale sheet - this was not a problem, despite different product codes you still get the sale price. They do cover lots and lots of other stuff as well though! They have baby clothes and accessories, toys, men's clothes, electrical goods (household, kitchen, computery, audio & visual), power tools, kitchen wares, cameras, furniture for all over the house, curtains, carpets, bed clothes, jewellery, all ranging in price but some very reasonable. I've ordered a bit of everything I think! They produce two catalogues a year (Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer) and the range changes considerably from one to the next. You can order goods on 'next day delivery' - this costs £2.95 but if you're desperate for an outfit for the weekend it's a Godsend!! And if you don't want to pay or you're not that eager for your goods, they aim to make deliveries to you within 48 hours. It has been known to take longer but never more than a week or so, but it's
free! The whole returns process is made as easy-peasy as possible for the customer: they send you an invoice with any goods ordered, on the bottom of which there's a little slip with a list of the items; you simply tick which you are returning, write on the reason for return (they have a code system A-H I think - too big, too small, fit, quality etc.), and pop it in the bag. You can either take it to the post office, or you can phone for courier collection. The more you order (and pay for) the higher your credit with them is. I've had my Look Again catalogue for about four years and my credit limit with them is £1200. Hopefully I'll never run up a bill for that amount but it's nice to have there in case of an emergency! For most goods the terms for payment are 20 weeks and it's interest free credit, for more expensive goods there is usually a 50 week interest free option, but for the really big items you can spread the payment over 150 weeks but then there's interest added on. Perks: You get commission every time you make a payment - 10% if taken as a cheque, 12% if taken in goods or used to make a payment - this comes in extremely handy! They seem to be constantly running 'Buy now, pay later' offers. At the moment if I order goods I can put off paying them for 6 months. Very often they give out free gifts, just quote a code when you order and the gift (the latest one is a blue rucksack) will be sent with your order. And they're always running BIG prize draws, with these you don't have to place an order, just ring up and quote a code! You can get account cover, insurance in case of job loss, for example. They have size charts in the catalogue. The sizes range from 10 to 20, maybe more, but they don't go over 14 in some of the designer labels. They have no problems with you ordering everything in two sizes 'just in case'! And the telephone operatives ar
e all very helpful and polite! The good thing about all catalogues is that you get to spread the payments of whatever you buy without the whopping interest of a credit card, but with Look Again it's actually a pleasure shopping with them!!

- 15/11/01 So you are alienating the men with this opinion? Well tough because i didn't take any notice of the title and just looked so there. What i found was a very good opinion. |

- 11/10/01 Haven't ordered out of a catalogue for years, and I've been wondering which one to get, so I think I'll definitely give this one a go, thanks :-) |
