Advantages: Smells great, loads of products to choose from
Disadvantages: Come products a little expensive
Lush is a wonderful shop full of handmade cosmetics. When walking down the high street that contains one of these stores you can't help but to wander in as the delicious smells waft around the street enticing you to buy!
The great thing about this store is the products packaging. They are all biodegradable, re-usable and e co friendly. They even have schemes in store for you to re-use their bags, and if you do this you get a stamp each time; once you have 3 stamps you will be rewarded with a free lush product! They also have a similar scheme with their metal moisturiser pots where you get a pound back for every one you bring back to the store for them to use again. Another important fact about lush products is they have vegan products and they are against animal testing.
Right, to the products then! they have a range of areas to use your products such as in the bath, shower, for your skin and for your hair. I will try to explain about as may of there products that I can. I'll start off in the bath area.
Bath ballistics - These are bath bombs which are filled with many different things from glitter, confetti, dried flowers and little notes! They range from the price of around £1.30 and can go right up to nearly £8. When dropping one into the bath it starts to fizz and lets of an amazing fragrance which will leave your bathroom smelling lush for hours!
Bubble bars - Instead of a liquid bubble bath, lush have made a solid one, and by doing so can make the presentation of this product very pretty. They are brightly coloured and come in a range of shapes and sizes. The price ranges from £2.00 to £4.00 depending on the size and weight of the product. To use you must crumble under running water for lovely bubbles and silk feeling water!
Bath melts - Similar the the bath ballistic, though these do not fizz, they slowly melt in your bath which makes the smell and feeling of these last longer. It softens the water and will make you not want to ever get out! Price ranges from around £3 per melt.
Soap - Simple soap? I don't think so! they make each soap a different colour and even include things inside like dried fruit and seaweed. These leave your skin feeling revived and the smell on your skin for hours. The price of one of these ranges from £2.50 to £4.50.
Now on to the shower products.
Butter creams - These look like slices of cake in the shop! Each topped with a unique 'bits' on top such has dried flowers. Using these in the shower like a body wash keeps your skin hydrated and feeling smooth. They are filled with plant infusions and essential oils that your skin needs. Prices from £2 to £3.
Shower gels - The range of shower gels they have here are so different that you may have to try them all to find your favourite! Using these as you would any other shower gel they lather up well and soften your skin. They range from £6 to £15 depending on which one you buy and what size you get.
Shower jelly - These are one of my favourites. Actually wobbly shower stuff! break some off and use all over the body, though be careful to hold on to it as they are slippery! They froth wonderfully and you can even use them as a shampoo in your hair! All about £2.20 depending on weight.
Smoothie shower soaps - A posh soap that isn't solid, can be used like a cream to lather over your body. Smooth all over your body and wash off after for very smooth skin. About £7.00 for a smaller pot, so would have to be just for treats!
Emotibombs - The same as bath ballistics but for your shower. By placing them on the floor at your feet, when water gets on them it fizzes up and lets a gorgeous smell fill your bathroom as your wash! They cost about £1.90 and have a range for your moods.
Now on to haircare..
Scalp treatments - They only have 2 products in this range which to be honest smell pretty bad!! They both have medical type smells, though if you feel brave enough to rub onto your scalp they can treat dandruff and nourish your roots. £3.88 for a scalp bar and £13.67 for a pot of hair doctor.
Shampoo and conditioners - They have liquids and solids in this range. the solids ( they claim ) last around 70 washes. Break a small piece of and lather in your hands before rubbing all over your hair. With the solid condition you smooth along your hair and rinse after. Prices from £3.80 to £9 depending on which item and size and weigh of item.
Hair gels - Like normal hair gels they hold your hair in place, but these give of a luscious smell and when washed off makes your hair feel as though its been washed. Though for £6.80 for a small pot you'd have to use sparingly.
Hair treatments and henna - pre-wash treatments which you cover your hair with and leave for 20 minutes before washing normally. Full of herbal infusions, fresh fruit and nutritious vegetables to restore your hair's softness and shine, £7 to £10 on theses. The henna treatment is 100% natural ingredients. Though its a bit of bother to use and take a couple of hours of your time with your head in cling film! All around £6.80
Skincare now, not much more left I promise!
Body - There are many products for your body such as hand and body lotions, deodorants, dusting powder and massage products. From around £5 to £11, the body lotions may seen dear, but is it really too much to pay for soft smooth skin? The deodorants they have come in creams, bars and powders. Of course you sprinkle or rub these on your pits to keep you fresh throughout the day; They cost from around £3.50 to £5.50. They dusting powder is used to sprinkle all over the body and even in clothes to help keep you feeling fresh on hot summer days. Massage bars are perfect for your stressed out muscles. They look like bars of soap and by working them in your hands you release the fragrant oils. Rub them all over you friends/partners/anyone's! bodies for a nice feeling. From £3.50 to £7.
Face - From face masks, moisturisers, lip balms to cleansers and toners Lush has them all. Like other products like these they work in the same ways, just have added smells and extra nutrients and ingredients to help make your skin feel extra special!
Lush also have a gift range of products that you can purchase in the price range of under £10, £10-£20, £20-£35, and then hat boxes which are from £40 to £100. It tells you on the ticket what each box has in it so you can find the perfect gift for your friend.
The last thing they have are fragrances which can be rubbed onto the body to get a long lasting smell! I love the Lush range of products and if your haven't tried them before I hope I could have been help to you. Everyone needs a treat from time to time!
Another thing about these stores is that when to go into them there are always staff on hand if you need any help. If you are looking around and look lost one of the staff will come and ask if you need any help. Some may find this annoying, but i think it's good as knowing myself if i needed help i wouldn't really want to ask. They will always listen to what you have to say and help in any way they can.
Summary: A must try shop
