Mackays

Mackays or M & Co as it is now better known, can be found on most High Streets. I have been shopping at Mackays for a good number of years now. It is a store which sells Ladies, Gents and Childrens Clothing and shoes. Larger stores also have a great selection of bedding, curtains and towels. Most of the stores that I shop in are on two floors. There is normally a lift to the upper floor. I shop here quite a lot for my casual wear. Although I regularly shop in the store I have only used Mackays online service a couple of times. So far I have been pleased with the service. I use a lot of these sorts of sites to buy clothes as I find it hard shopping with three young children. This isn't one of the best but it's ok. The delivery isn't very fast and it is quite costly. Returns are via Royal Mail or to your local store. When I attempted to return an item staff were unsure how to deal with a Internet order return and so I was kept waiting a long time while they bodged it through their system. You may call me a snob, but I hate cheap clothes. I would rather pay a little more for quality and know it will last. I had never been in Mackays as I have always been put off by the window displays. Often cheap frumpy lady’s clothes are displayed or tacky children’s fashion wear. I had decided that this shop was not for me. Well, that changed this week. I have been staying with my sister-in-law down in Cornwall. When we went to Bodmin shopping, she dragged me (under protest) into Mackays, bra shopping for her eldest daughter. The Makays in Barnstaple is brilliant, the staff are friendly without going over the top. I always make Makays my first stop when out clothes shopping. The clothes are of excellent quality and not to pricey. They have a great range for Adults, and their children's section is just as good. Whether you want something for a special occasion or just want cheering up, you will always find something just right for you. The shop itself is light and airy, you do not feel hemmed (sorry about the pun) in and they have don't have pushy sales assistants, one of my pet hates. There is a Mackays shop in one of our neighbouring towns and I find that they do stock a nice range of childrens and adults clothes. There is usually a very good choice of nice co-ordinates. The only downfall to this shop is that if you are on a budget, then unless it is sale time then you are better of giving it a miss. To go in and find the ideal outfit but not be able to afford it would be a crying shame. At the same time I wouldnt class them as being expensive either. The clothes that we have bought from here for my son have been of very good quality and have lasted.
