Mansfield Market

Mansfield market may be many hundred years old but I am afraid it has become just a shadow of it's former self in the past few years. It was at one time a fantastic market, both the main market square and the smaller market on West Gate being full of inviting stalls, but now it's well, not much good. There is a flea market in the main square each week and a farmers market once a month on West Gate both on a Tuesday, but the market itself on Thursday, Friday and Saturday just isn't worth bothering with. Mansfield market is the best market around the uk it is split up into two sections a small market and a big market at the centre of the town, i would suggest to anyone that likes to visit towns to vist this one. Mansfield’s market is renown as one of the largest open air markets in the country with more than 100 stalls selling a very large range of products. The market is located right in the middle of the town centre in a Victorian style market place. The centrepiece of the market place is the impressive Bentinck Memorial, a wonderful stone spire that was built as a tribute to the son of the 4th Duke of Portland.
