Advantages: Pleanty of room to move around

Disadvantages: Few stalls, not much choice

Mansfield market may be many hundred years old but I am afraid it has become just a shadow of it's former self in the past few years.
It was at one time a fantastic market, both the main market square and the smaller market on West Gate being full of inviting stalls, but now it's well, not much good.
There is a flea market in the main square each week and a farmers market once a month on West Gate both on a Tuesday, but the market itself on Thursday, Friday and Saturday just isn't worth bothering with.
The most popular items on sale on the market are luggage and greetings cards, the first being something you don't buy very often, the second being something sold in many shops close by.
I don't want to put anyone off from visiting the market for the first time, but please don't be disappointed with what you find.
