Maplins is a large computer/electrical shop offering all sorts of items from satellite dishes to component AV cables. I am very into electronics and love looking about Maplins to see what quirky and unusual items they have for sale. I have found them to be cheapest for computer component parts such as SATA hard drive leads, but also get annoyed at the mark up that they have on some on the other items which when produced in bulk only cost them a fraction of the price they sell them for.

The staff are well presented and offer help should you need it, and most of their stores that I have visited are well presented and have everything laid out in a logical manner, meaning it is easy to find things.

The Maplin offer emails/brochures that get sent often annoy me because upon googling some of the special offer items, a cheaper price is often found including delivery.

I personally use Maplin as little as I physically can purely because I know I can find the items cheaper on the internet, and I usually plan things in advance so I know I will very rarely have to pop into maplins for something. Best to use maplins as a place to look at items you are interested in buying.
