Advantages: great value and quality, reasonably priced, great taste

Disadvantages: checkouts can be busy

Marks and Spencers Foodhall is one of my favourites to visit, the stores are well organised with clear signage and they are not too big, which means your not going around in circles looking for items. I personally even just enjoy browsing around the store.

The products offered in Marks and Spencers are typically own branded products, with variations from value ranges up to gastro. There really is something for everyone, and the quality is great either way.

It is often said that the prices are expensive, however I tend to disagree. In every supermarket there are expensive products, this does not mean that the whole range is. Many products are on a similar price range to other supermarkets, and I find Marks and Spencers to be much tastier. So I reckon its great value.

Some of my favourite items are their sandwiches, which compared to other shops and supermarket are of a far greater quality and taste. Their range of sandwiches are very varied too, often with different fillings than you would find elsewhere.
Another of my favourite items are their croissants, which i often just eat straight out of the packet, though they are equally delicious warm with jam.
I regularly visit my local Marks and Spencers and purchase their fresh vegetables, which usually have an offer of 2 items out of a range for £3. I find this to be great value, and undercuts the other supermarkets.
You can often get a bargain if your shopping towards the end of the day, where items are reduced if the sell by date is nearly up. Everyone loves a bargain.

Summary: a great foodhall!

I find most of the food to be highly priced and most people I know seem to think the same. It's good for food that is nice for a treat or the odd convenience meal. It's a lot more expensive in general than say Tesco's or Asda and I find that some of the food portions in the ready meals are not suitable for the amount of person's it is supposedly supposed to feed.

I think it's reasonable, you can get all sorts of great prices depending on what you buy. Croissants are 99p. Chicken pieces are 99p. Selected vegetables are 2 for £3, so you can get 2 lots of asparagus for £3 which is usually £1.99 each elsewhere, or mix and match them. They do the dine in offer for £10 which is a bargain. Not everything is cheap I agree, but like I said in the review, its the same in all supermarkets. What is it that you find very expensive in there?
