Advantages: All round good shop, good reputation for quality.

Disadvantages: Some things are a bit more expensive, depending on what you want to pay.

I have to tend to dissagreee with some of the comments about M&S's baby wear, I find it exceptional value, and excellent quality, the sizes of the clothes are well designed, I had my son still wearing his size 0-3 months clothes when he was 5 months old, and they fitted very well, not at all streached or forced on, and no, he wasn't what you would call a small baby, he was 9lb 1/2 oz at birth, and has always been a big boy!!

They wash very well, and I think they have a nice range, better than Mothercare anyway, but thats not too hard these days lol!!
As for the prices, well, they're quite competative really compared with Mothercare; and other hight street stores, I would say they were reasonably priced, I mean you get what you pay for don't you, and if you want good quality, lasting clothes, well, you can't be too shy of paying the extra pounds, plus they do have some great sales!!
