Advantages: There is a M&S on virtually every high-street

Disadvantages: The prices sometimes cannot be justified.

If you haven’t visited M&S for a couple of years due to the fact that you thought it had ‘lost the plot’. I urge you to make a return visit as you may be pleasantly surprised.
Due to its diminishing profit margins, M&S was forced to make some radical changes although in some areas of the store, there are still improvements to be made.
In the woman’s wear, there are many up-to-date fashion items such as cropped trousers and halter-neck / backless items, but to my disappointment, there is still clothing which ‘screams M&S’ and is stuck in a rut, brought out onto the rails for sale year after year.
The introduction of the Autograph range in a few of the larger stores is an effort by M&S to showcase clothing by designers such as Betty Jackson. Unfortunately I have both good and bad things to say on this range. I recently bought a top from the Autograph range in my usual size that generally fits me in M&S clothes. When I got home I found that it was necessary to get the next size up from my usual size and when I spoke to a friend, she had the same problem. Other than this, I have found the Autograph range well-made and different from the ordinary M&S woman’s wear range, offering a different type of clothes.
What woman does not own an item of M&S underwear? If you need some underwear, many people dash to their local M&S and go for a trusty white five pack of briefs. However, M&S is now aiming to make its underwear more universally appealing via the use of an Agent Provocateur diffusion line, which even though it is very innovative (for M&S anyway!) is a little overpriced for what it is at £25 for a bra and £9 for an extremely small thong.
So if you have neglected visiting M&S for a while, try a repeat visit and you may be pleasantly surprised, although some of the items are still vastly overpriced for what they are and the overall design and layout of the store leaves little to be desired.
