Matalan
Matalan is a bargain superstore that is generally not on the high street and is more commonly situated in industrial estates surrounded by shops such as Next Home or Curry's.
To shop at Matalan you must have a membership card. This is easily obtained by completing a small application and paying £1. You must display your card at the checkout. It is also possible to obtain a visitor pass for the day.
Each quarter a Matalan brochure is issued giving details of special offers available
Matalan sell a range of products-
Men's, Women's, Children and babies clothing
Shoes and Jewellery
Household items, dishes, pots, mirrors etc.
Electrical goods, TV's, Irons etc.
General Items- Suitcases, videos etc.
They have also recently introduced a party shop that sells party decorations such as balloons and banners, has a large fancy dress range and accessories such as tiara/handcuffs etc. for hen parties. I have not purchase any of the products but they look great.
Matalan prices are really good and the products are generally of reasonable quality.
I find the kids clothes to be great. I recently bought my daughter a pretty red dress with white Bolero. The dress cost just £5 and washes like a ribbon. The Bolero cost just £3.50 but unfortunately did not was so well and was perhaps false economy.
I have also purchased suitcases and an iron from the store. The iron cost just £15 and was a brand named good quality steam iron. The suitcases cost £25 each and very really very good. They looked very classy and have lasted very well.
Overall-
A good budget store just be careful with the quality of the clothes
Summary: A good bargin store
