Forget Disneyland, come to Matalands (Matalan)

WHAT IS IT:
Matalan is a discount clothing store that also sells a range of household products.

IS IT ANY GOOD:
There's a certain stigma attached to 'Matalands' as it's called in our area. That stigma is that the shop is very cheap, and that you have to be 'scabby' to shop there. In some ways these notions are true, but in all the best ways.

There are two things I love about this shop:

1)It's cheap - there's nowhere cheaper to buy clothes, and this place is on a par with Primark: suits for £30, shirt and tie sets for £5, it's an absolute bargain.

2) The range - this is a huge store, with thousands of items in it. They have loads of clothes for men, women, children and babies, and there's almost never something you want that you can't get at Matalan.

In terms of quality, there's nothing that's terrible, but likewise it's all budget range. The shirts I bought for work lasted six months before needing to be replaced, whereas my £30 one I bought from Debenhams is still going strong 2 years later. You get what you pay for, but if you're not able to pay for something expensive, this is an excellent place to buy clothes.

The shop has about a dozen pairs of trainers, but most of these are very trendy, and I almost always get a pair from the shop.

However, there is one bad thing: the queues are huge, and you can always expect to be behind at least 30 people at this shop (literally).

IF YOU LIKED IT:
Primark is a similar style and price shop, although it's too untidy there for me.

IN CONCLUSION:
Dirt cheap clothing and lots of it, but expect you queue up for a long time to get it!
