Advantages: Cheap good quality products and has a wide range of everything

Disadvantages: Have to have a matalan card before you shop

Mataln has been one of my favorite stores for a long time. I have been going for about 5 years now and it has come along so much in this time.

The first time I had gone was when I had started work and had to get christmas presants for family. I visited the main store in birmingham and they had got big sales on at the time. I invested in a waterproof coat for my mom that had a flease inside that detached. This coat worked out the best coat that she had ever had it was a good winter coat that was waterproof then because the inside detached it was a good rain mac for the warmer weather but kept you dry. They did this is red and black, 2 shades of green and two shades of blue. I invested in the blue one for her and it cost me £10 this lasted about 5 years so it was good value for money.

When I had my first child I visited my local store in Walsall where I spent about £50 and bought alot of baby clothes for him. They were of good quality and I passed them on to a friend when he had grown out of them. Some of the clothes only cost me £2 so I could not grumble at the price of them.

I recently moved house so I re-visited the other day to get some things for my new house. I have got a king size bed and struggle to find nice bed sheets for my bed that fit, I saw some that went with my colour scheme lovely and they only cost me £20. My favorite investment that day was my laurence photo frames that were a 10 by 8 frame black fancy that cost £10 a frame but you are paying for the designers name to be honest with these and they are only for your best photos (which are my first born pictures of my children). I did invest in some more expensive things a cream metal bin that cost £30 but to be honest that will be something that will last for many years.

You will have some things there that are a bit cheap and will not last long but most of the stuff is good quality and will last a long time and is reasonably priced.

They now do a party and fancy dress range that is cheap, I will be going again due to my daughters 2nd birthday is coming up. Their household range is not alot but what they have got is of good quality and you will find most of your essentials and is cheap and quite fancy rarther than cheap looking.

They have a big childrens range for girls and boys and do school uniforms that are priced very good too. They have a minimal amount of shoes that are of good quality that are great for the kids because of how much they knock them about the sizes run a little big though.

Adults clothes are reasonably priced and last christmas I spent about £50 on my partner and managed to kit his wardrobe out.

They do a small books and games section that is cheap to pick up the odd presant for the kids for birthdays and christmas.

I am very pleased with my recent shop and find that their household section is the best place I have been to buy this kind of stuff and got it much cheaper than when I have been shopping anywhere else.

I would advise anyone to at least go and take a look, unfortunately before you shop you will have to open a matalan card before you can buy anything which I really dont understand why. You dont have to fight the crowds when you go in and it always looks fully stocked. It is not very often that you will not find your size in the clothes or have more than one item to choose from. They always seem to have a sale on every so many months, at the minuite they have a 1/2 price sale on at my local one in Walsall.

This is a great place where you can get almost anything for cheap and good quality.
