My closest Matalan shop is situated at Carron. Just outside Falkirk about 10 miles from us. It has a huge car park and disabled spaces right against the shop wall.

You used to have to pay £1 for a lifetimes membership but now it’s free.

The shop is spotless clean and the racks where the goods hang are always tidy. They have eight or more changing rooms and they are spotless too.

I buy quite a lot of my everyday clothes there I usually have a wee look at least once a fortnight

The staff is really friendly and we know most of them buy name now, and always get a very friendly “ good morning” when we visit. Jim says that’s because I talk to everybody :O) .

The staff has really good fun and dress up whenever they have the chance like at Easter when they were dressed as chickens and some had fancy Easter bonnets and at Halloween they were all really scary eech!

I’ve had many a top for three or four pounds and trousers from five or six pound. Jim and Ross have had some really brilliant buys too.

As most of you know I am a wee cuddly Mammy and they go from sizes 10to 18 in most of their goods and some even bigger. A lot of them are quite big fitting so I can go for smaller sizes and feel slim Lol.

The have lovely bathroom towels and fittings and dishes and pots and pans/cutlery/ curtains and duvets and duvet covers/bedspreads. They have suitcases and fancy goods too. I got a chrome toilet roll stand and brush for £12 it really is rather posh looking Lol.


Just lately they have started to stock up with Christmas novelties.

They have a dog that sings “ only you” and sounds just like my daughter in law Kate (only kidding Kate Honest) LOL.

I bough Jim a soft squashy dog that goes over the arm of his chair. It has2 pockets for the remotes (he calls it spike :o). I told you we wee all mad didn’t I.

They do expensive lab
els too I got Ross a beautiful Ben Sherman shirt for £6 as it had no wrapping and a lovely Royal Blue shirt and matching tie for £3 for the same reason.

Jim bought me a lovely grey coat last week and it was only £35. ( from santa)

They have really nice children’s clothes too and really “ with it “ shoes too.

They also have lovely clean toilets, and a disabled one as well.

If something doesn’t fit or if you don’t like it even, you can return it within 30 days and get your money back no problem. At this time of year they extend that to up to and including 31st January.

Their stuff might not last as long as expensive clothes but at their prices it‘s OK. I personally love to browse the Matalan shop.

I’ am a wee bit short but round as can be
But that doesn’t matter, smaller sizes I buy
Oh Jim come and see this so excited I cry
Look see this nightie this would do Mum
And for Ross here’s some chocolates to put in his tum
And look at that grey coat that would do me.
Oh! Look there’s the toilet I’m needing a P**
Oh gosh the excitement has gone to my head
I think I’ll head home and jump into bed.
