Advantages: Indoors, easily accessable, free parking, vast range of stores.

Disadvantages: Can get busy at peak times.

Meadowhall Shopping Centre:

Meadowhall is a large indoor shopping centre located on the outskirts of Sheffield. This is particularly ideal in winter or when it's raining! However during peak times it can get very busy.

It is easily accessable as it has it's own bus station, and access to trains and the supertram. It is also easy to get to by car, as is located only a short distance from junction 34 on the M1.
Car parking is free, and there are plenty of places to park (both indoors and outdoors).

Opening times vary, and there is a slight difference between the opening and closing times of the shops and that of the food court. Timings for the shops are as follows:

Mon - Fri 10am to 9pm (note some select shops open at 9am).
Sat 9am to 9pm.
Sun 11am to 5pm.

The food court ( otherwise known as the Oasis) generally opens about an hour earlier than the shops, and closes about an hour later. It consists of a large seating area with tables, of which are surrounded by food/drink outlets (ranging from costa coffee to Mcdonalds). Some of these outlets provide their own seating inside, whilst with others you have to sit in the general seating area. The main advantage of the general seating area is that anybody can sit there, so you can take your own lunch/drinks with you if you don't want to buy anything.

The range of shops available varies greatly, I will list a few but it's worth going online to check for the whole range. There is a section by the Oasis called the "lanes", this section is full of small/unique shops/stalls (selling individual and specialist items). This is particularly good for buying presents etc.
Elsewhere in the building there are the big main stores such as boots, marks and spencers, next, debenhams and Bhs amongst others. Slightly smaller stores range from primark to monsoon, so most ranges of fashion are covered. However it is not all fashion and main stores that are catered for. There are many other types of store available, including; footwear, cards/gifts, stationary, jewellery, photographic, entertainment, home furnishings, sports, toys, travel agents, hairdressers, opticians and beauty.

The centre also caters for it's disabled and child customers. For children there is an outdoor play area, and the option of hiring a kiddy car to travel around the centre in (just go to the customer services help desk). Whilst for the disabled you can join their shop mobility scheme (go to the shop mobility help desk). Here you can arrange to hire a wheelchair or even an electric scooter. It may also be possible to hire an accompanied shopper on request.

Summary: Great shopping experience!
