Advantages: You can find almost anything imaginable.

Disadvantages: Can be a bit overbusy at times.

Meadowhall is perhaps the shopping centre of the north. Inside this gigantic purpose built shopping centre is just about every store that you could imagine or conceivably need during a single trip, and if on the odd occasion there isn't a store you want there, often the next time you come back there will be as the place never seems to stand still. ALl that said though most of these stores are big chains that you can find in just about any town centre for the most part.

Where Meadowhall excels is down in the Oasis. The Oasis is the food court at Meadowhall which has a range of food dispensaries to visit ranging from McDonalds to Pizza Express to Nandos and a number of smaller names that I don't remember off hand. Around the edge of the Oasis is an area known as the lanes which houses some of the smaller retailers that either can't afford a full unit, or simply want that smaller space for the more unique look. The place has the feel of a typical market area but without all the cold, wet, windy weather that goes with it.

The downside of all these shops being there are that Meadowhall does become a very busy place, in spite of the massive amounts of parking available it can still sometimes be hard to find a space if you go at a weekend. Thankfully Meadowhall has a full transport interchange on site meaning that you can get there cheaply via tram, train or bus which is perhaps the best way of arriving unless you're planning particularly big purchases, especially as the interchange is linked all undercover.

Summary: A great place to go shopping.
