Advantages: Good instructions

Disadvantages: Blinding headaches.

I want to scream. Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Why?
Went to the local MFI furniture shop and bought a cabinet for the lounge. It looked lovely in the store. Flat pack the way to go, we are told mmmmmmmmm not sure anymore. Got it home and started to unpack it. Whoooops not all the bits there. Take it back. They very kindly gave us another one. So drove all the way back home, unloaded it, unpacked it and guess what? damaged. As Victor Meldrum said "I do not believe it". So after an irrate phone called we drove back in and chose another one from the pile, we even checked it instore. HOORAY it was all there and undamaged, so off we set again got it home unpacked and started the assembly. Oh dear. What we did not check was the instuctions. Why is it that manufactures write the instuctions in double dutch. I want good clear instructions, just a basic outline of how to put things together. Perhaps they should give a video recording of how to do it, because the instructions we had were awful. It took us 4 hours to put a cabinet together. When we had finally finished, and our hair was grey, we had screws and bolts left over and blinding headaches. Does anyone else get fed up with bad instructions?

When we got our cot from Argos we realised that the drop rails were missing! Fortuntely after settling on a different cot as this was the last one in stock Argos sent someone round to collect the cot & exchange it for the new one. They did this as I explained that at 8.5 months pregnant there was no way I could get it back to the shop!
Since then /I have self assembled a TV corner unit & baby change unit from Index with no problems & a futon sofa from Argos. The futon sofa from Argos was the worst as the instructions made us put it together wrong, there was a mistake in them! Fortunately we realised before we put it together firmly!
