I have brought some £1200 of bedroom furniture from MFI. I purchased the Schreiber range on a buy one get the other half price deal, just before the closing date. Except that I knew it would come back a few weeks (maybe even days later). The first thing you should watch is that this does not apply to anything other than the furniture (i.e. the carcuss, drawers and doors). All accessories, plinths etc., are full price.

As usually delivery is like at least 8 weeks away.
As I was moving into a new house I thought never mind. Come the day they don't turn up, dispite me waiting all day. They don't try to contact me, but claim they could not find it as the delivery drivers don't live in the area. I then find out that the depot for deliveries is 1.5 miles down the road from me! But they used delivery drivers from 35 miles away.

I persisted and eventually managed to get the goods, but later discovered that it was short. MFI manager said why did I sign for it then? I said if you have something like 112 items (don't forget one piece of furniture like a bedside table will come in many packages, like carcuss, drawers (usually 3 separate pieces), handles, glass top. Imagine how many for 4 bedrooms!
The manager admitted he would not keep 2 impatient drivers waiting, whilst he counted and ticked off items which were literally thrown into the hallway.

When it came to assembly, yes you guessed it, more pieces we missing. It took many more deliveries to sort it out, missed dates, pices being sent by post (even a fitting). The stores now do not keep anything.

I know MFI is trying to improve it's poor image, but it does not understand customer service at all. The number for customer service is in Sunderland or somewhere up there. It really is impossible!
