Although I've read a lot of reviews here, I've never been tempted to post one myself until now. We've just moved into a new house, with much bigger bedroom, and so thought, "Hey, let's treat ourselves, we'll buy a lovely new bed!" After a lot of research online, we decided to start treading the pavement in search of the perfect bed. Much to my surprise, we found the ideal one in MFI, it was exactly what we wanted, the price was very good, and although we couldn't get a weekend delivery, the fact that we could pick from a selection of dates was really appealing - everyone knows how crap it is, trying to guess when to book time off work. Although we were disappointed that the bed was going to take a month to be delivered. This didn't seem to be a major problem, as it fitted in quite well with the move. Our bed was due to be delivered tomorrow. Note the past tense. This afternoon, we had a call from the supplier (note again - not MFI) to say that our new bed won't be delivered tomorrow after all. It is apparently, a very popular line - fair enough, we knew that when we paid for it a month ago (interest on which we missed out on). The minion at the supplier couldn't tell us when we might be able to get our lovely new bed; they aren't due to start getting them in until maybe 24th March. The 3rd degree (he wasn't very good at giving information) revealed that that's not when they're going to be able to deliver, it's just a possibility. Much gnashing of teeth. Phoned MFI, apologetic, but they're not willing or able to do anything, the manager advised a new delivery date of the beginning of April. They could have told us that the bed wouldn't ready for the delivery date more than a day before it was due to be delivered. They could have given a better estimate of the lead-time. They should have made sure that there was stock available before they took our mone
y for the bed. The manager wouldn't even give the address of head office - we've to get that from the original receipt. He has given us our money back, but that's not much good, as we're now short one bed, and finding this out last week would have meant that we could have ordered one from somewhere else. Apparently they've been very busy, and that's why we've had such problems. They won't be getting any of my money again!
