MFI have been in a bit of a mess financially in recent years, any past or potential customer will know the reasons why from their last shop there.

The old "we've got a sale, better buy now" campaigns are wearing very thin, do they ever charge the list price for anything they sell ? This continual sale may have impressed people 10-15 years ago but consumers are a lot smarter to this type of ploy now and would mistrust the pricing policy.

The range of goods has been rationalised, in with trendy accessories and out with basic flat packs. The type of basic no frills furniture that people used to go to MFI for is no longer stocked eg. white formica chest of bedroom drawers. Cheap and cheerful you could always get what you wanted. The type of market they are now aiming at has much competition - many of whom offer a far better service and price eg Ikea, Cargo.

Customer service has been poor, delivery dates often weeks away, they will not try to source from neighbouring stores. This arrogant treatment of their customers is probably why they are in their current mess, if they don't learn from their customers and give us what we want it could be the end for MFI.
