Advantages: cheap, quality quite good

MFI is an improving store, it has had troubled times in the past, but is trying hard to improve now, but it still has not made it all the way.

They do offer a very useful design service, which for kitchens I found excellent and for bedrooms I found barely acceptable.

Their delivery service had some problems, with our kitchen there were some items missing and some stuff damaged. Another time they called me up asking me why I was not in, and they were waiting outside the house for me. But the depot had sent them to the wrong town.

The kitchen fitter seemed useful at first and then put back the fitting twice and then on the first day he was off sick for a day and a half and becuase of the amount of work we needed doing he could not get everything done in the time available. No problem he said that he could come back the end of the following week and finishe off most of it and then a day at the weekend as necessary.

He kept cancelling appointments with more and more implausible excuses and eeventually made up something about a health and safety inspection at the store. So we had to go up to the store to see the manager. We had complained to the store before but nothing had been done.

Give him his due he was very helpful but totally unaware of his staffs behaviour. He arranged a fitter to come about four weeks later and finish the work off, but it was a long time coming and we did not get any form of compensation rom them. We bought the kitchen in March and had the fitting arranged for April, it was not until November that we finally got it finished.

If you buy a kitchen from MFI in Stevenage do not allow them to send round BOB TAYLOR as a fitter, he is very unreliable but the work that he carried out was of a very good standard.

Overall a long drawn out process that was a made a lor more unpleasant than it had been. My advice is use MFI because the price is right but do not let them mess you around
in any way shape or form. Give them no leeway with the fitting.
