Advantages: quite a lot of stores nationwide

Disadvantages: lack of choice, too expensive and goods not available that day

MFI used to be a good store for kitting out your home. They sold everything from sofas and beds to fitted kitchens at quite reasonable prices. Most of their bedroom and office furniture was flat pack self-assembly and available to take away that day. Just like IKEA I hear you say.....this is how it used to be. These days, when you go into MFI there is much less choice (gone are the sofas we once saw) and the prices are much more expensive than they once were. Furniture seems to be of poorer quality than it used to be and not as good as IKEA. To top it all, if you do find something that you really want to buy...they no longer stock it and you have to wait approximately six weeks to have it delivered!
