Advantages: Low cost but good quality
Disadvantages: Not as wide a range as others
For ask long as I can remember my family have shopped at Morrisons. I too shop their most of the time. The nearest store to me is fairly new but I used the one it replaced too. Wm Morrisons is one of the "big four" when it comes to supermarkets.
This supermarket is fashioned around what is now classed as old fashioned market place type shopping. They have real butchers, fishmonger's, bakery and delicatessen. These are on what they call "market street" and have a counter and freshly packed sections too. I find this useful so when, say in the meat section I want a specific size or cut then I can ask the butcher to prepare it for me.
There is also a hot counter with cooked chickens and pork joints. To add to this they sell ribs and hocks, stuffing and roast potatoes. On the other side they sell ready to eat meals like chicken breast bites (my favourite) , wings, drum stick's, sausages and fillet burgers. Also chips and wedges. You can buy these in a family bucket, as a meal for one or in individual portions, very handy if you have a busy day on the go.
Now obviously I am not going to list every item that Morrisons sell but I will give my reasons for shopping here the most. Mainly the reason is obvious, the price, for the things I need I find this to be the cheapest and if not the cheapest then the best quality. For fruit and veg may get some thing cheaper elsewhere but the quality is lacking in comparison. I also find that the home brand is quite good for most thing's too. This is true of other shops but again for me I want good fresh produce and I feel Morrisons deliver the best products.
Morrisons has a home section and I often find a bargain, be it an electrical item (I bought a slow cooker for only £20) or a new dinner set then the prices are reasonable. The entertainment section is the same as any other with just about the same price and they have a small book section I buy offers from now and again.
They have an aisle that is for seasonal items, so just now it has gifts and decorations for Christmas, in the summer things for BBQ's and spring Easter eggs, they have just had things for Halloween party's and costumes.
The only thing that Morrisons doesn't offer that others do is a clothing range, this I don't find a problem, I do most shopping here but do like a change now and then so it makes no difference to me.
So my general thoughts are it is a very good supermarket with average prices and good quality produce and products so definately worth a go if only to compare with your local rivals.
Summary: Low cost shopping for anyone
