Advantages: they have a storecard and good baby change facilities

Disadvantages: overall quality is steadily reducing

Having been a regular customer of mothercare for the last 10 years I was devastated when they recently shut the city centre store in favour of a suburban site ( formerly chilrens world, now mothercare world) The new site is not on a bus route and to access it safely you have to go by car, you can get there on foot if you don't mind taking your life into your hands crossing a major route through the town.
The number of products offered have been drastically reduced and the age range for clothing has been reduced from 10 years to 8, this is a problem as there are few enough places stocking school uniforms etc. The product quality is also being compromised by the increase in the use of synthetic materials where they have previously bosted cotton goods. The clothing in particular has become very modern which some people do like personally I like my babies to look like babies not a piece of meat ready for the nightclub!
Larger products such as pushchairs have a full year guarantee supposedly but from my own experience this is not always fulfilled, and they rarely have loan pushchairs available while yours is fixed.
I have a mothercare storecard so I have been a very good customer over the last years, but my balance is steadily comingdown as there is absolutely nothing which catches my eye inthe entire shop.
What has happened? Why are they going so wrong?
