MujiNewest Review: ... that you can't squeeze anything out of it, or so stiff that they crack. The Muji ones are just the right texture and I write the contents on the outside with a permanent marker so no mix-ups. Depending on what you want to put inside, you can get pumps, screw lids, spray or flip top. They really are the best. Price range very affordable at £1.95-£2.95. I have also bought a nice pair of ... more |

Muji is great. I dont have any where I live (Scotland), so whenever I am in Manchester or London, I love to stock up. My favourite things from Muji are the 100ml empty plastic bottles. These are great for travel and pass the airport regulation size allowance for hand luggage. I have bought a number of travel size empties over the years and have found that one plastic bottle is not the same as the next. With others the plastic has been so hard that you can't squeeze anything out of it, or so stiff that they crack. The Muji ones are just the right texture and I write the contents on the outside with a permanent marker so no mix-ups. Depending on what you want to put ... Read the complete review

Muji sell some of the best furniture out there, but not many people know this. We bought our bed, a bench for our table and curtains from Muji. They were absolute bargains considering the quality of the finished product. We had to assemble our bed, but it was one of the easiest pieces of DIY I've ever done. You could tell that a lot of attention to detail went into the design of it. It is also very comfortable. I've also bought some clothes there. They are very simple and are good for everyday use. Muji started off as a reaction against expensive brand-named goods in Japan, but ironically it has become a brand in itself. ... Read the complete review

I first came across Muji about three years ago and I love everything about it, from their eco-friendly approach, to their imaginative range of products. It’s a calm, inviting shop that once you have been to once, you will want to return time and time again… I can best describe Muji as a cross between Ikea and Paperchase, with some oriental elegance mixed in. ~~~History~~~ Let me tell you a bit about the history of the company… The name ‘Muji’ is short for Mujirushi Ryohin, which translates as "no brand, good product." Muji was developed in the early 1980s in Japan, and in just over twenty years, Muji has expanded from a single outlet to ... Read the complete review

I have been shopping at Muji for years and it remains a reliable favourite of mine. Go into Muji and you'll find it is all very functional, simple, classic, Japanese. Not too flamboyant- the shop seems to have a lot of blonde wood items, cardboard, brown things, clear plastic things. It sells stationery items, frames, housewares, furniture, and clothing with a reasonable price tag. Muji is actually a non-brand so if you buy a jumper there, you won't find a label. This presumably keeps costs down. What do I love most about Muji? It is particularly good for the essentials- you can buy some wonderful bowls (about a fiver each), plates, platters, ... Okay I'm an advertiser's dream, but just being in Muji makes you feel cleaner and more in control and like from now on your life will be organised. *sigh* Yes, I'm very ashamed of myself. Muji is a Japanese mini department store with branches all over central London, one in Birmingham, one in Manchester and er, lots in Japan presumably. Their products are extremely plain (simple materials and neutral colours) and well-made, and they don't brand-label anything. They sell stationery, housewares, clothing, toiletries and a limited range of food and drink at (generally reasonable) prices. Their strongest point is definitely their stationery. ...
