Here's my review for my local Music Zone shop, which I wrote for the Qype website: Pros The shop has some top bargains when considered against other high street retailers of music. They seem to have better deals on albums than other major shops. The shop is right outside the main bus station. They also have a DVD section although this is not comprehensive. I have found in the past that the bargain bin section has thrown up some great stuff so it may be worth your while trawling through some crap to find a hidden gem if you are in there. The staff have been helpful towards me when I have been in and have not found a desired cd, they will check their system or ...  Read the complete review

I have never had more grief in my life than when shopping at Music Zone. Music Zone should hold a degree in Incompetence from the University of Stupidity. Now before you assume that I am ranting and raving for the sake of it, I will catalogue my bad times at Music Zone. One day whilst rushing through the town centre, I noticed a sign over an empty shop that read: "New discount music store opening soon". My face lit up and I was very happy indeed. I have always thought places like HMV and Virgin stores charge way too much for their albums and videos etc. I went home and told all my friends, we waited and waited and waited. Then one ...  Read the complete review

Living in a city has big advantages, every shop ever I’m thinking... I spend most of my days wandering around, well, shopping… it’s good. So I’ve been in every shop in Liverpool and believe me, that’s a lot of shopping hours clocked up. I also spend most of my money on CD’s and videos (not yet been brave enough to make that leap to DVD) so it’s safe to say, I have the best collection in town. You can shop around, look at what’s on offer and I have to say, this place is the best place ever for all the albums you need to buy ever are under £10, yes you heard it, under a tenner for hours upon hours of pleasure... ...  Read the complete review

Yes, Cd's are far too expensive in Britain, we hear that in the news all the time, we pay more than most. But i feel music zone has the best value out of any chain stores. The shop near me in Wigan, is quite small, but it has a very good selection of new and classic music, it doesn't have everything, but you've an excellent chance of finding what you want. The best part is the price, EVERY single cd is 9.99, double cd's are 14.99 (bought 'the wall' by pink floyd there for that, half the price of anywhere else), and it also has a very big selection of 5.99 cd's.... i always find if i have a bit of spare cash i can always find ...  Read the complete review

Music Zone Trade Direct When this shop opened in my home town, I gave it a miss at first as I tend not to buy much music, but one day, whilst wandering aimlessly around town I stopped and took a look in the window. From that day on, when I discovered they sell cheap videos, my shopping habits have changed considerably, and when I say cheap, I mean they can be really cheap. As well as videos, they also, as the name hints, sell music and also a small selection of books, buts its the videos I will concentrate on in this review. For what its worth, I also visited the branch in Glasgow, and found it to sell pretty much the same videos, at ...  Read the complete review
