Advantages: as I said KICK ASS service and everything musical you need under 1 roof
Disadvantages: some items outa stock sometimes - depending on supplier's availability
Well... I feel that the best person you can ask for advice from about a musical instrument shop is an employee or a satisfied customer who realises their fantasic efforts towards top quality customer service and extensive supply of musical instruments and sheet music. I am an employee and I have dealt with many customers who were extremely happy with the service offered. Chappells has two branches.... one located in Bond Street - London (off Oxford Street) and one in Central Milton Keynes. Each store has three separate departments - Sheet Music - Musical Instruments and Keyboards/Pianos/Hi-tech equipment. There is, almost (hey - nothings perfect!), everything that a musician could ever want - and if they dont have it they'll order the product in for you and, depending on the supplier's availability, it should get to you within the next two weeks. The Sheet Music department deals with - Sheet Music, Music Books, Music Text-books, CDs/Cassettes, Manuscript Paper, Exam Sylabuses, Exam work-books, Stationary and Gifts. Every style and instrument is catered for and if it isnt in stock ASK! and you should be able to order it! The musical instrument depatment sells every instrument that isnt a Piano/Keyboard so that includes a very wide range of Guitars, Amplifiers, Woodwind instruments, Brass, Violins etc and Percussion. Accessories such as Clarinet reeds, guitar strings, cork grease, Metronomes, Tuners, valve oil - everything that you'd need for your instrument are sold over the counter and these items are always readily available. Want to get rid of your old instrument and get a new one?..no probs - Chappells offers a part exchange facility where you can give up your old instrument and get money off your new one! If you dont want to buy an instument straight away you can rent one for a minimum period of 12 months to decide whether you feel right learning to play a musical instument. Ask to try the instrument should it be a Gui
tar, Clarinet or recorder before you even think about putting your hands in your wallet and they'll be happy to assis you with choosing the instrument thats not the most expensive or the one that noone wants to buy... but the one thats right for YOU! Again if theres something the store doesnt have in stock ASK and they'll be happy to order it in for you! And then theres the Keyboard/Piano department...and 1 quick word of advice - if you dont want a Yamaha (I cant see why not!) dont go in! Chappells specialise in Yamaha pianos and Keyboards and sometimes this is better because you know that employees have a great amount of product knowledge and know the existing, old and future product's background. This department also deals with the Hi-tech equipment such as mixers, 4/8 track recorders, Synths/modules and Musical computer packages. In this department products can be rather expensive so if you dont exactly want to pay for a £3000 Piano all in one go (trust me some people do do this!) Chappells offers interest free credit/finance schemes, part exchanges are also welcomed. You can also rent Pianos for a minimum period of 12 months so you can "try before you buy" an decide whether its right for you. All full-time employees use these products in store in their spare time and so therefore know ALOT about them - and they are always happy to help and explain their (the products!) full potentials to you! Staff are happy to demonstrate the Keyboards and Pianos and Guitars and other instruments and help you decide what insrument that is AGAIN -not the most expensive or the one that they want to get rid of but the one that is BEST FOR YOU! And dont feel obliged to walk in and HAVE TO BUY SOMETHING! Have a browse, ask a few questions and staff are happy to answer and help! The cool thing about the customer service at Chappells is that EVERYONE who works behind the counter is a musician, some who have Music degrees, some who teach
music, loads who perform and gig outside of work so you, the customer, knows that whatever their opinion its a genuine, experienced, and informative one. And when you buy an instrument the help doesnt end there on the day of the sale, staff keep you well informed of your products (should you want any more information) and if you have any problems GO BACK INTO THE STORE AND IT WILL GET SORTED. The fact that Chappells is a Music shop with musicains behind the counter means that REAL advice is given and the staff do their upmost to help you find and understand the right product that you can "make music" with! <br>Still curious? then visit their website at www.chappellsofbondstreet.co.uk
