MVCNewest Review: ... his mum and wets his bed' those people tend to get banned :P The other problem with MVC is the cards!, the only really have them as a way to get your address under the false pretenses that your saving money when in fact your not, go next door to your local woolworths and you'll see there all the love 'cardholders prices', they then use your address to send you pointless crap the good thing about them is that they will order anything you ask them to :D ... more |

Right, obviously being a chain store this is gonna vary from store to store but the one where i live, Kendal,.... yes home of mintcake!, needs to get better staff. i understand that its the kind of place to get weekend work when your still at college or school and that taking on school kids is easy for mvc to do as they are flexible and generally low paid, but the could at least screen them first and i'm sure they never ask the question 'do you actually have any interest in films or music'. i can't count the times i have gone in to ask for a cd just to be stared blankly at. thank god they have that nice database system thats all i ... Everyone was raving about MVC so I thought I'd go in and have a look. The first thing that put me off was that you had to fill in all of your details in order to get the card and have money off the CDs in the shop. But, I filled in my details reluctantly expecting to save lots of money on my favourite CDs. I went browsing the store only to find that you only saved £1-£2 off each CD. I thought well maybe in the long run I?d save lots of money. But, then I looked again and the non-cardholders price was actually £1-£2 more expensive than in any other shop anyway, so really you were not saving any money at all. The one time I went into MVC and bought something I ... Read the complete review

Lets start a fued shall we...? Forget Blur & Oasis or even the UK & Germany at the beach. This'll be rivalry... But anyway, on with this 'assesment', shall we call it of the Kingfisher entertainment chain MVC. Selling the full A-Z bussines of music, DVDs and videos, computer and console games, verious electronics and other pieces like relevant magazines and posters. I have conducted 'research' on both the aforementioned shops, including short interviews I did to test the staff. All folowing information was specifically obtained from the Chichester branch, and certain bits Guildford. In Chichester, it perhpas hasn't got the best ... Read the complete review

MVC, part of the Kingfisher retail group that also includes Comet, B&Q, Superdrug and Woolworths, have been late in setting up an online store. From humble beginnings as a cheap'n'cheerful discount music store on the Harrow Road in North London at the start of the 1990s, they have slowly expanded their business to all four corners of the UK, although the total number of outlets is still less than their highstreet rivals. They have never been the most fashionable of chains, with their rather bland style of instore decor and functional rather than atmospheric layout. For years, they could seldom be beaten on price, which - when all is said and done - ... Read the complete review

I was recommended to this shop by my dad. He went in there, got a card and saved all this money apparently. I thought "I'll have some of that". So the next day I went in there to save myself all this money. I didn't save much in the end though. First of all the shop is good. It has a great variety of cds, dvds and videos. Not just all the newest things it has almost everything. However I found that the price I paid with my card was just the same as in other shops. If I didn't have a card then the average cd would be about £2 dearer in this shop. So I don't really buy much from this shop. A lot of the time they ... Read the complete review
