Advantages: Low low prices

Disadvantages: Terrible staff and general state in the shop itself is very poor.

Netto is a low cost supermarket, I wouldn't call it super but its not like a real market so it has to fall in the other category. a lot of people think Netto sells all poor quality items and for some part it does, however they also sell big brand names at knocked down prices, very handy in the present financial climate.

I happen to have two Netto store only ten minutes from my home, one near town the other a smaller more local store. Both sell the same things, the usual Netto brand products with big brands scattered about, I don't go very often as I prefer another low cost shop that is similar but with much better service and a nicer shop in general.

I must say I like Netto's own brand of diet cola, a snip at just 19p and there tomato soup is delicious, every bit as good as the more famous brands. When I do go I like to look at the centre isles, they always have a wide variety of odd stock, this can be toys and gift sets to tools or slippers, it is different every time I go, some is cheap tack and somethings are real bargains, I bought my dad a LED head torch for just £2.99 and he says item excellent. There are four parts to this section, the one I have mentioned, one with food like pasta sauces, noodles, hot chocolate and other random items on offer, a toiletry and cleaning side with things like shampoo, nappies, face crème, floor cleaner, air freshener and then the last always has things like Christmas or Easter chocolate, baking items or any kind of sweet thing that is on offer.

They have a meat and fresh produce (cooked meat and dairy) section, I don't buy the meat as I worry about were it comes from, the same for their eggs, they never sell free range. there is a freezer part with some big and some unheard of brands. A section with cereal and UHT milk. Then at the end they have a selection of crisps , fizzy pop and alcohol, not really sure what this is like as I don't drink very much but I have once bought a large box of Stella Artois for a good price (along time ago now)

For all the bargains you will find here this doesn't make up for the extreme lack of customer care and the general state of the shop, it is always untidy somewhere and they have never enough staff on the checkout so you always have a long queue to wait through. I have found staff to be (not in every case) mostly unhelpful and clearly unhappy to be there, I can almost feel for them, it is clearly an awful place to work.

Summary: Worth a trip to save on some items but you couldn't do a full shop there.
