Advantages: Cheap, variety and easy to cope with.

Disadvantages: Not a very favourable rep, and they wont always have the things you want.

Remember those old Netto Ads with the Swedish Woman dressed as a Viking, telling you that Netto was Scandinavian for Value? Well, she wasnt lying! It is... value, I mean... I dont know what Netto translates to.

Anyway, I never shopped at a Netto until about 4 Years ago. Firstly, we never had a local one, and secondly, it had kind of a reputation back then as being a place that the 'Lower Classes' would shop.

Thats utter twoddle.

Netto is brill! Although Im not sure its as cheap as it was years ago, its still a pretty good store to walk around. And its not just food you will find in there! Furnature, technology, booze, cigarettes in some cases... Netto expanded a lot quite recently, to incorperate that Supermarket feel its never really had.

The food isnt rubbish, and actually gives the major named brands a run for their money, as well as a great price tag to go with them.

Sadly, like many stores, its subject to the old 'change the store round to make it look better' routine, which can get really annoying.

Netto is basic. It isnt flashy, and it doesnt claim to have the cheapest prices in surveys conducted by whatever website... but the fact is, if they did, Netto would probably be up there as one of the cheapest. I think, though, that the 'Big-Wigs' at Netto have decided that staying away from 'competing' and television notoriety cuts the costs of the business, and it does.

Netto, in its own right, is famous, but not for flashing its name in every ad-break during prime time TV. Just simply from the local customers, who recommend it, and from the odd newspaper advert.

Their stuffs great, and the reputation it garnered back when really doesnt do this place justice.

Summary: Maybe not a great place to do the weekly shop, but a good place to pick a few things up from.
