Advantages: cheap offers

Disadvantages: not everything is good value

Netto is a discount supermarket with outlets all over the uk. They sell mainly food stuffs but often have a range of special offer items too. These can include DIY materials, toys, cookware and household items.

I quite like Netto for certain things but i dont think its a place where you can do a full shop as they just dont have the same range as places like Tesco and Asda.

Netto has improved recently by increasing its opening hours - now open til 8pm on an evening, i think theyve done this to compete a little with the larger supermarkets.

Netto foods are often cheaper than the supermarkets but not when Tesco or Asda have the products on special offer, i.e. buy one get one free. So you really have to watch out for that.

Netto stores are really unappealling. Everything about them shouts cheap, from the neon yellow and black signs to the stark interior design. This is a real shame as i feel it really does put some people off entering.

Overall i would visit Netto if i needed something specific but for a full shop i stick to Tesco. I do however like reading the brochure that comes through the door - they do some pretty cheap homeware stuff but its not always in stock when you go to the store.

Summary: worth a look
