Advantages: Clothes, shoes etc.
Disadvantages: Odd pricing
I would generally shop in one of three New Look stores: Dumbarton, Clydebank or Buchanan St. Glasgow. Therefore my review of New Look will be based primarily on these stores.
Lots of people tell me that New Look is THE place to buy shoes, personally I'd like to know what shoes they are trying on!? I am a size 6 but I have very narrow feet and find it nearly impossible to get pretty flat shoes to stay on my feet. Friends were always recommending New Look for shoes saying they had a great variety and were reasonably priced. I went for a look but I have to say I've been really unimpressed every time I've been in. Perhaps I'm just unlucky with the combination of styles I like and sizing.
The shop itself follows a similar jumble sale layout to Primark, although there are fewer clothes littering the floors, which is definitely a bonus. This can be good for finding outfits if you have some time to rummage but sometimes you don't want to rummage, you just wish to find a cardigan, t-shirt or pair of jeans and leave. There are a few distinct areas in the larger Glasgow store to help guide you through, such as the basics section. The shoes section follows the best layout of the store, the shoes are lined up by size and style and it's always tidy which is great. The Glasgow store also has a men's section.
The clothes themselves are of alright quality but often the pricing is quite strange. You can find that a lovely dress will cost around £20 but so will a t-shirt with an ironed on design. On the up side, they do a wide range of sizes, although they are generally short on the smallest and largest sizes. They also have a teen section, children's section and plus size section.
All in all New Look is generally worth a look, particularly if you have time to rummage.
Summary: Generally worth a look
