New Look is a shop I frequent regularly, although less so these days as I veer more towards TopShop, and my friends and I used to nickname it 'the temple' such was out love for it...Yes, we were 14.

Let's start with the most important thing:

The Clothes

In general, I find their dresses the best part of their stock, and they're always very reasonably priced, around the £20-£30 mark, which is more competitive than other stores. I used to wear their jeans a lot, and they served me very well, though I find their sizing comes up a little small is this department, so I tend to avoid as I've put on a few pounds!! Their tops I often find a tad little girly, their slogan t-shirts just don't pull off cool like those sold elsewhere. Their basic tops are very good quality though and cheap as well (£3-£5). Another department of the shop is the suit and formal daywear section which I think is a real strong point. I have had many a jacket from there that is very well made and fits perfectly and their trousers as well are very nice. I also like their black jumpers: not too baggy, yet not too clingy. Their lingerie section also boasts a good variety of bras: they have a good range, t-shirt bras, multi-way, the all important padded bra! On top of that they do also have a good nightwear selection.

Now, I MUST mention the shoes. O, the shoes. New Look remains absolutely 100% the best high street shop for shoes. Cheap, but not of poor quality, they really do have some shoes to die for! I bought a pair of silver/grey high heels about 4 years ago for £5 and they remain my most comfortable, yet stylish, shoe to date. And I've bought plenty of shoes from elsewhere in the meantime! What impresses me most is their selection: patent, small heel, big heel, strappy, peep toe, boots, flats, flip flops. You name it, they've got it. And there's often a good sale on, that includes the good stuff not just the tat.

Their accessories however, don't quite live up to their competitors. I'm never over impressed by their bag section, nor their scarf selection. I do applaud them on their belts though, although they need just that little bit more elastic in their waist belts, as I bought one that stretched so much I needed to safety pin it. (Although it was quite nice to imagine I'd lost a few pounds!! :P) Their jewellery is also a bit hit and miss and New Look is never my first port of call for this: again, some is a little bit tacky and little-girly although I have seen some improvement, so maybe they're working on it!!
