I am reviewing the Next Home stores as I have recently had a lot of experience of these while shopping for furniture for a new house. The Next Home stores can either be a smaller department within the usual Next shops, or a larger store of their own, usually on retail parks.
Many of the larger items of furniture can be quite pricey, such as sofas, chairs, tables etc. However, after numerous visits to various furniture stores and also browsing online I decided on a large fabric sofa (Alexis) from Next. The great thing was that it was available to see in most of the Next Home stores that I visited, even some of the smaller ones (I get around a lot as I have family in various parts of the country), and the quality was of a standard to rival M&S, at slightly cheaper prices. The thing that I liked about the sofas in Next Home was that they looked stylish and modern, without being OTT like a lot of the sofas I saw in stores like DFS and CSL. If you want a simple, stylish and comfy sofa then Next Home has a great range. They also have about 70 different fabric styles/colours that can be used on most of the ranges of sofas and they have all the fabrics in the stores that you can then drape over the sofa of your choice.
Ordering was really simple in store and staff were friendly. They told us it was free delivery and would take a maximum of 4 weeks to arrive, however it only took 2 weeks! They sent a txt when the sofa had been made and we phoned them back to state when we would like it delivered. They gave us a morning slot but then they phone with plenty of time to tell you how far away they are.
Now I'm saving up for a matching chair and hopefully some lovely decorative items from the new spring range.
It wasn't until recently that I really began to shop in Next. Before, it was always a kind of 'last resort' kind of place for me especially if I couldn't find something I was looking for in all my usual shops (New Look, Dorothy Perkins). However, lately I have been going to Next as a bit of a first choice.
Next always have lots of nice clothes; ones which really stand out and are just classy looking whilst at the same time being fashionable. I would say that Next clothes are in the 'smart-casual' category. Every single item of clothing is smart and there is certainly nothing cheap about the place.
Next have a great range of clothes and I can always find something suitable to wear to a formal event which is great. I also think that they have an excellent 'work wear' range - very professional looking and smart. Actually I have to praise Next on their work wear as I don't know a shop like it who sells such a great selection of work wear clothes (and such a wide range too).
There are 2 Next stores in the nearest town with a Next.. There is one in the shopping centre and one out of town. The one in the shopping centre is quite small and seems to feature more 'work clothes'. I think this is what put me off shopping at Next because I always thought that it looked 'too office-y' when I was younger. However, when I went to the out of town one I was amazed at how many beautiful clothes they actually have. My point being, don't be put off Next just because of one store. Over the past year, having worked in an office, Next has been invaluable to me with all it's smart work wear.
The clothes in Next can be quite pricey - not super expensive like Monsoon, but expensive to student like me. You can easily spend around £30 on a pair of 'smart casual trousers'. Sometimes though, I may be in the changing room trying on a top and I'll look at the price tag and be surprised that the top is only around £11 which is great. Although the clothes are always of excellent quality and I have never had any problems.
Next also have a 'men's section' and a children's section, as well as a home ware section which whilst I personally have never used them, I have heard excellent things about them. I would definitely consider using Next for the 'home items' when get my own place.
Next also have their own catalogue which is called The Next Directory. I have never used this as I always think that I can look online. Also you have to buy the catalogue (last time I looked it was around £3.50 which I think is a bit annoying - I don't know of anywhere else where you have to buy the catalogue.
Next also have their own range of beauty items such as various perfumes and lotions etc which are great. A small-ish bottle of one of the perfumes can you set you back around £6-£7 which I think is great value for money and they make great gifts. Next also have a few other 'gifts' which are good.
I especially like Next at Christmas when they have loads of fluffy slippers and cute pyjama set. They also have some great 'gifts' which come out at Christmas.
Next also have 'gift cards' which are like gift vouchers. Everybody I know likes Next and have been really pleased when I have given them Next Vouchers which is great.
Staff are always pleasant and helpful which is nice. There is always a lovely, pleasant and quiet a 'luxury' atmosphere in Next which I like.
I would definitely recommend Next. It is great for work-wear and for smart casual clothes.
Thanks for reading!

Next is a well known and popular high street store. Recently a huge outlet has opened in a retail park about five minutes from where I live. I had shopped in Next before this store opened but now due to its easy to access location. I find that I do quite a lot of my clothes shopping here.
I have never actually purchased any item of clothing for myself. Its not that there is nothing in the store that I fancy. The fashion items are well made and bang on trend. There are atleast two or three items that catch my eye in the ladies fashion department each time I shop there. The reason I don't buy anything for myself is that I find the prices too expensive. I seriously cannot justify paying a lot of money on one top. I would rather go to matalan next door and get a few things, for the price of one thing in next.
However I can justify buying things for the children here and the next children's department is gorgeous. I find that they have a better, trendier selection of clothes for boys rather than girls. I always buy my sons jeans from next. Yes they are more expensive than in some other stores, However the quality and style of the jeans are worth the extra cash. Next also do an exceptional range of shirts, jumpers and coats for little boys. You are really in dangerous cash spending territory. As most things are so trendy. You will find that your heart over takes your head and you end up spending more than you should have.
The girls clothes, I seem to think have gone down hill in the last few years. Yes there are one or two nice pieces, but some of the girls clothes are bordering on dowdy. The trendiest of the girls clothes has certainly declined. When my daughter was small I would say about 80% of her wardrobe came from next. Now however I struggle to find anything that I love enough to warrant spending extra money on. Although saying that, she did receive a brown chunky knit trendy cardigan for Christmas. and a pair of shorts with thick tights and both were really gorgeous. So maybe things are looking up and the girls department are returning to step up to the mark.
The menswear department is again very expensive for the items you are purchasing. And I do believe that cheaper high street retailers are just as trendy and much cheaper when it comes to the menswear. The thing I do like about the menswear department are the toiletries and aftershaves. They are really high quality and these are reasonably priced. I have bought a few male toiletry gifts for Christmas and have always received positive feedback.
It is important to note than in the ladies department, as well as the clothes, they also have a fabulous accessory department. Shoes and handbags are very on trend. The costume jewellery are also reasonably priced and have a huge range of styles and colours. I have had about three watches for myself here, They range from about £25 and are very good quality and very nicely designed in a variety of colours.
The ladies department also has a perfume and toiletry section. There a few signature scents from next. Although I have not purchased any, When I have had a spray in store, they smell delicious. I like the handbag size scents they provide. They cost approx £6 and are elegant unyet small enough to fit in your handbag for a night out.
The homewear department
This is were I believe the next brand excels itself. I am a total next homewear addict. I love the modern decorative items they have on display. There have modern and contemporary pieces, from vases to clocks. There lighting products are also fantastically designed. And always seem to be a bit more different and trendy than in other stores. Interestingly I find that the homewear items are no dearer than other high street brands. The curtains and lamps are not too expensive and are in my opinion excellent value for the quality of the products.
I find that if you are looking for something for the home in an unusual colour, you are more than likely to be lucky in Next. They tend to be bold and unafraid to dip their toes in the trend setting waters.
If you are looking for bigger household items such as furniture and kitchens. Then Next do provide these too, via order through the next catalogue, or web site. The catalogues are a joy to sit down and browse through. They are visual masterpieces in their own right and provide the reader with lots of hints and ideas on interior designs.
I believe that Next is an excellent high street store. Offering good quality, fashionable items. Its popularity has increased greatly over the last few years and I believe that is thanks to the designers and buyers who work for the store. As they have taken away that rather stuffy image and ruffled its feathers somewhat into a trend setting brand.
If you keep an eye out for the next sale dates, which are usually held in January and in the summer. You can bag yourself a real bargain. But be prepared to get up early and expect loads of people as it is very popular. But if you are prepared to face the bedlam then you are almost guaranteed to walk away with massive savings.
I love next for everything from clothing to homewear. And I always look forward to when they have there big sales on so we thought we'd go up to Cheshire Oaks (retail park part) for a look around and to pop in to the next store to see what they had to offer there.
As soon as I stepped in to the store there was a ladie giving out clear bags at the front for the bargain hunters to put everything they want into it with out struggling which I thought was a good idea.
Anyway I grabbed a baag from the lady and went for a look around. It was mayhem people grabbing things everywhere you looked but this was also a great shopping experience.
Next reduce everything slashing all the prices by 50% and on most things even more.
My bag was crammed with everything from smellies, underwear,a really nice jacket,T-shirts a belt and ties (for work). I just couldn't get enough.
I took my clothing to the checkout with out delay. They had every till on so there wasn't a long wait and when I got to the till the lady was very nice and we chatted as she scanned my clothes.
I ended up spending £75.00 in there and I totalled it up when I got home and without the sale it would of reached £139.00 Bargain.
Even without the Next sales I tend to buy all my clothes from there because of the great service they give to the customers and the outstanding quality of the clothing.
Next go a great range of childrens wear to ranging from 0-3 months all the way up to todlers and all the way up to adulthood.
Mens wear really are great quality from great suits to trousers,Jeans,t-shirts,slippers amongst other things.
They also do a range of men and womens watches and toiletries and other gadgets.
Womens wear are great too and range from jeans tops, skirts, ladies suits and much more.
Next really is a great department store. It has a lot to offer for all ages and sizes.
I have used Next for several years now and personally find it one of the best clothes shops on the High Street. I have previously written a review which covers the online experience, but I have recently moved to an area that has both a normal Next store and a Next Clearance.
This review is based on my experiences of using the Next Clearance branches.
*** What is Next Clearance? ***
From what I can tell, Next Clearance is basically the shop which contains many items from the older catalogues; things that would typically be seen in the sale in normal Next stores. There are also ranges provided solely for these Clearance lines and they are clothes that I find appealing to my taste.
Next clearance also contains the 'Home' items.
However, please don't get the impression that it is basically a jumble sale. It isn't. The same standards upheld with the normal Next stores are carried across into the Clearance shops. I have always found the clothes area of the shop to be tidy and well-presented. The clothes are also categorised as the normal stores, e.g. men's clothes, formal wear, shoes, casual wear etc.
*** Quality of items ***
Clothes-wise, I have always felt that Next could not be faulted on quality. I have also felt assured that sizes very rarely differ. By that I mean I know that if I go into a Next store and pick up my size in numerous items (and even multiples of the same items), they will fit. I have never had this in other stores.
However, I will admit that I think that the Home items in these stores really let the place down. When you look at the Next catalogue, obviously they have illustrated items to the best of their ability and the same goes for the normal stores. In Next Clearance, they looked like they are just dumped and the overall effect for some of the items is negative - some things look cheap and easily breakable. They do not present the image of quality items.
*** Customer service ***
Again, I have never felt let down by customer service. The staff are pleasant and helpful. I also think it says a lot when you don't have experience of dealing with other areas of customer service, such as complaints and returns, simply because I have never had the need.
*** Return policies ***
Clearance stores do not, and certainly not the one I visit, have changing rooms; you have to take the risk in purchasing the items. However, the good side is that returns policies do exist for these items. I originally feared that once you bought something from these stores, you couldn't return/exchange them because they were in 'sales', but you can take them to any store, so long at it's within 28 days.
*** Why use Next Clearance over the standard store? ***
Next is never going to be a place to shop if you are seeking a bargain; that's for places like Primark. The advantage that Clearance stores have over normal shops is that they are slightly cheaper and as mentioned previously, there are ranges provided solely for these Clearance lines.
Besides the matter of cost, I actually find the Next Clearance store in my area a more pleasant environment to visit. The reason for this I cannot explain. All I know is that I can happily spend an hour or so in the Clearance store, but am eager to leave the normal store within ten minutes. It is unfathomable as to why, but that's how it is.
*** Recommendable ***
I have only experienced the one Clearance store and I don't know how many such stores exist, but I would happily recommend them.
Please note that I have kept this review relatively short and there are areas that I could expand upon, but I don't want to repeat myself by stating things I have mentioned in a previous review.

I expect we have all been into Next and bought something.
My opinion though is about when something goes wrong in Next, which I must add isn`t very often!
After looking everywhere for a Christening dress for my daughters Christening, and you would not believe how hard they are to find, I finally found one on Next site.
As the Christening was less than 2 weeks away we decided to go into the shop and sort it out from there.
We went into the Next in Swindon Orbital Shopping Park on the Friday.
We ordered a beautiful Christening robe and paid the £25 in advance. We were told that it would be there in the shop for us on Monday.
With the Christening being on the following Sunday, we knew we had left it late but thrilled it was at last organised.
Come the Monday we telephoned to make sure the store had had their delivery before driving the 15 miles to get it.
No, it was going to arrive on the Wednesday.
Come the Wednesday we telephoned to make sure the store had had their delivery.
No, it was not in and looks doubtful if it would be in at all until the following week.
Can you imagine how I felt.. Crying is an understatement.. I was devestated!
Anyway my brother took over here and said he wanted to speak to the Manager. The Manager wasn't there but they said they would get her to call us, to which we though "oh yeah". But she did.
After being told what had happened she said she would move heaven and earth to get us one as she had Children and knew how much of a panick these things are.
Well she not only moved heaven and earth and found the identical one, she had it sent to us at home by special delivery and my Daughter got a beautiful Christening card from the store.
Now that is what I call putting things right and a big thank you to Next.
I`ve never had any problems with next, they are fantastic. You can order a copy of the catalogue for £3.50 on the site www.Next.co.uk or order one in store. I love looking round next so I don't have a catalogue myself as I`d be dangerous... really I would. My sister does and has next day delivery alot of the time.
You can buy gift vouchers that they place on a card for you, which is fantastic as you can add to this and it`s great for puting money on throughout the year for Christmas presents ect.
They sell so much and not just clothes.
You can order fresh flowers that can are delivered to the door, these range from £18-£45 and are beautifully presented in so many different ways. You can also have chocolates and flowers as a package.
Teddy Bear £7
Belgian chocolates (these taste amazing) £5 small £10 large Moutard Champagne Brut £20 Rose £25
A range of perfumes that all smell wonderful and are priced at £5-£10
Balloons with a message on which can be either Happy Birthday, Congratulations or Thank You and are £2.50.
All this can be added to the flowers to personalise it that little bit more!!
Although these items are in the catalogue and on the website they can also be ordered in store as well.
The Home section in the shop is brilliant. Although it is a bit pricey it is well worth it as it`s great quality. They sell everything including mirrors, tables and dining room sets, shelves, cabinets of all kinds, sofas and sofa beds, lights and many more things but I wont go on as the list could go on forever.
Although I was upset as I had to chase them rather than them phone, they did explain they didn't have a system that could allow them to do this due to so many orders going through each day.
If you haven`t given Next a chance go and have a wander round as there is something for everyone not just clothing either.
Thanks for reading as always. kim xx
Also on ciao!!
I am not a fan of Next in general for a few reasons which I will explain below, but the thing with this shop is that it sells so many different things that I think it would be very difficult to just simply say you do not like it. There MUST be something good about it for everyone, I just don't see how there could not be.
Firstly, let's start with the famous Next Sale. They do a sale like nobody else does and everybody else should (except the 5am opening which I really detest and find pointless). They reduce almost everything - the whole shop goes into the sale. I have friends who literally visit the day before the sale, try on what they want and return at 5am to buy them for half the price they would have paid the day before. Amazing! I have never seen a shop do a sale with such enthusiam and popularity. The queues at 5am speak for themselves really. You can't try things on but returns are quick and easy so this really is not an issue at all. I love the fact that they are not greedy when it comes to sales - I would rather a shop had no sale than advertised 'SALE' all over the window then in reality just stuck a few items nobody wants in a reduced corner and carried on the rest of the shop as usual. The Next sales are legendary and if you have not experienced one yet then you don't know what you are missing.
NEXT CLEARANCE SHOPS
You can find the Next Clearance shops in discount retail centres such as Dalton Park (County Durham) or Royal Quays (North Tyneside). I will keep this short and say nothing other than do not waste your petrol or bus fare on a visit. Keep in mind my above review of the sales. They get rid of everything there - what is left is literally the junk NOBODY wants. And the shops look like a jumble sale too. Just wait for a sale if you want the Next clothes at a bargain price, there is no need for these Clearance shops.
Boyswear is awful and chavvy. Crinkly linen yellow shirts with black clip-on ties for 6 month old babies. Need I say more?
Well actually I will say a bit more. The girls' clothes are lovely and if I had a girl I would dress her in lots of outfits from Next. However I have a boy and I never buy clothes from Next. They are overpriced for starters, and also they look like they are shrunken 20-something stylish men's clothes (think tumble dryer effect). Seriously, if you don't have a baby just go and have a look at this section for the novelty value it is ridiculous. There are some nice clothes too but I just cannot get past the fact that at least 50% of the stuff is just downright ridiculous. However their sleepsuits are fantastic as they have built-in turnover scratch mitts up to 6 months which are invaluable (see separate review).
Clearly I am not a man but they do sell good quality stuff at decent prices. Boxer shorts and socks are great quality and very reasonable.
They have a dressy section, a workwear section and a casual section, as well as a Petite range. Their clothes (with the exception of workwear) are mainly aimed at 30+ women I would say and their jeans are far from trendy so I give them a wide berth. Their clothes are cut on the generous side so I cannot even get away with the size sixes because they are too big on the bottoms. Tops I find to be OK. They stock clothes from size 8 upwards in the normal range and the Petite range starts at a 6 (I believe it goes up to a size 16).
Workwear and tailoring is cut very well, lined nicely and offers brilliant value for money.
The shoes are not stylish in the least, very much aimed at a more mature market I'd say. There are no bold, breathtaking fashion statements in Next but they do sell nice quality clothes. It is a bit overpriced largely though.
Next is a decent shop if not a one-stop-shop. I could not shop in Next alone but I still like to have a look from time to time. The sales have bumped the rating to 3* for their sheer value for money.
I live about 8 miles for a Next Clearance shop at Clarks village so that is the shop I will be writing about in the review. The shop is large and laid out over one floor there is a lot on offer in this store. As you enter the large double automatic door there is women's clothes to the right and directly in front with means clothes to the right and children's clothes and some other odd bits at the rear of the store. The store offers many discounts and there is regularly a sale or stock clearance.
The clothes is displayed and sorted into colours so there is a section of black items, red items, blue items etc this makes it hard for me to find what I am looking for as sometimes I want a size 14 top and I do not know what colour so I have to search the whole area! Within the coloured section, there is a choice of sizes and styles. I have often found a top I like then had to search through endless rails to find the right size! and then I think oh it would look nice in blue so have to take it to other sections so try to find it again!
The store has some odd pieces like a sofa, curtains, bedding etc there is not much choice of these items there are just what they have on display. These items are however heavily discounted so it is worth a look through.
There is a large variety of items at next there are skirts, tops, trousers, jeans etc and usually a lot of sizes avalible. The store however doesn't' have a changing area which is a huge disadvantage. The clothes from next are good quality it fits and lasts really well. I do have problems with the sizing for young children's clothes my daughter is an average sized 7 year old but to get tops that fit her in next they have to be at least size 10-11 years.
I like the style of clothes in Next and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The shops are always clean but it does become a bit like a jumble sale if they have a good sale on as customers hunt thought the rails.
Overall I like Next and find the clothes very good value and there is some lovely smart clothes however they need to look into there sizing and they could really do with a changing room.
NEXT- It's my absolute favorite!
There is nothing not to like about this store, okay maybe the prices can be a little steep at times but their clearance stores and frequent sales make up for it.
Especially after I had my children I found that I can really rely on clothing from NEXT. Not only do their sizes be a perfect fit but the items last and last and last! In fact I've got items of clothing that each of my child has worn until they grew out of it and they were still good enough to sell on Ebay!
The range of clothes at this store is also fantastic, I always manage to find a piece of clothing here, that matches at least three items that I already own. This in my opinion is a great find and a good bargain.
Whenever I go shopping, NEXT is the usually one of the first few stores I visit then the rest of my trip I base around how much time I have left. And the times I don't visit NEXT it feel like I never been shopping!
I'm not really a fan of Next as i find that there items are too 'posh' in appearence for me, don't get me wrong I like to take pride in my appearence, but I always find that alot of their clothes are something that I would wear to a job interview or something.
Most of their items come under that category for me but there is a few things that I have purchased, like a pair of jeans, or the odd bit of jewellery.
My fiancee however is always in the mens section of our local one, but I always feel let down in there, as I dont think that there is a wide selection for men to choose from.
I also find that their prices can be expensive too, people always say to me that you are paying for the quality of the items, but to be honest I dont see any diffenence in quality to any other store, maybe thats just me?
I do however like their range for in the home, I purchased a light from there a couple of years ago. As i say i wouldn't normally go in, but i found that no where else had one that I wanted and went in as a last resort, and found that they had different styles and exactly what I was after, so praise where it is due, I was satisfied on that trip.
I find that the staff that are in our large store, as we are lovingly blessed with two, why I have no idea, are not very helpful and are actually quite rude, when we were in the other day, i aksed a girl a question and I was ignored and all her answers went to my fiancee, what the reason was I have no idea, but I didnt appreciate it, I am the customer after all.
I only ever go in when it is the last resort and thats how its going to stay, as you can tell don't really like this store at all.
Next is one of the best high street retailer with around several shops in each area of majority of cities.
With a wide selection of ladies, mens childrens wear and homeware such as furniture to electricals to textiles and paint there is a lot of top quality choice to choose from.
Ladieswear clothing ranges in size 6-20 in store and with larger size available via the directory for which you do not need to be a directory customer as can be order and delivered in store.
They also have a maternity range, petite and occasion wear.
Childrenware clothing ranges in sizes from small baby to up to age 16
Mens clothing range sizes varies depending on leg, wasit and chest measurements.
Next also offers flowers, wine, gifts and a photo service.
Although Next prices may not be as cheap as some other high street stores such as new look, you can always trust that products from this retailer is of high quality.
I used to think of Next as sort of overpriced 'basics' store. Good for good quality jeans and jumpers..with not much imagination in the design, a bit frumpy I guess..
Since getting a new Next store in town, however, I've been converted and my wardrobe is now filling up with more and more of their clothes.
My original thoughts were not too far off - the range of clothes doesn't have the funky detailing of River Island or H&M, however they have some good pieces that beat other high street stores on quality and fit. For example their jeans are great. Their sizing is not scrimped on and they have styles for every shape. Most importantly their clothes feel that bit better quality when you wear them and they last. My jeans have been barely off me for the past year and they still look pretty new.
Of course you do pay for better quality. Carrying on with jeans as an example, you'll pay between £20 and £40, rather than your £8 Primark pair. I now see why Next sales are so popular!
The stores themselves are everywhere - high streets retail parks, some towns I've seen have two! They are neat and tidy, well laid out and easy to shop...well most of the time. Next's sales are crazy, be prepared for crowds and mess!!
Next caters for more than just the Ladies. I cannot comment for experience, not having children myself but their kids clothes have a good reputation. Likewise for their Men's and Home ranges.
Staff have always been helpful in my experience, but not intimidating and the atmosphere in stores I've found is pretty laid back.
All in all a good high street store, still maintaining quality products as it's priority above trying the undercut rivals for the cheapest buys. Good on them.
Next is one of those clothing shops where some seasons they seem to get it pretty much right with the range of clothes that they stock and I find mayself buying from them however peraps more often than not they fail to get it right and I give them a wide berth.
They are not bad for jeans and they did a half decent range of combat trousers when they were in fashion but I have been a bit disappointed with their tops recently and their shoes are not that great either.
Recently when took my young God-daughtr on a shopping and cinema trip I was impressed with the childrens clothes that she was able to choose from and it was pretty reasonably priced as well, not quite as girly as the stuff in Monsoon which I thought was really nice but they had a couple of dresses that were nice and some georgous party frocks one of which I was tempted o get her but decided against it.
Next can be found on the high street but more often than not they ar also on the large out of town units, the one we used was in Northampton near Sixfields and it is a large store with the clothes well set out and everything was easy to find.
The queue was not too long at the check out and the staff helpful however at sale time they do become packed out.
Next is a high street shop and has been around for a long time now, they offer a catalogue service whereby you can have the latest catalogue delivered to your door for a small fee if you decide you wish to sign up for this service.
Next sells 4 main area's of items, these are Men's clothing, women's Clothing, Children's Clothing and Home ware. I haven't seen any of the Home ware things in a store yet but you can see them in the catalogues or on the website.
Although a lot of people shop in next, I know I am going to offend quite a lot of people by saying this, I think the women's clothes in particular are poor and its almost as though they are trying to be fashionable but failing, the store does appear to keep up to date with the latest fashion but only to an extent, I think its fine for either a younger teen who's beginning to fit into ladies sizes, or for women in their 30's plus, who still want to look trendy but not like an 18 year old.
I love the Children's clothes, especially the ones for babies, my sister just gave birth and I couldn't resist buying things from next, there really are some adorable outfits and are very reasonably priced, so if you know or are having a baby then id highly recommend next!
The home ware section as I previously said isn't really sold in store (to my knowledge) and so to even see it you have to either have the facilities to go on the internet or own the Next catalogue, not surprising its not a popular place to buy furniture and other home ware from, but none the less if you do get chance to see them there are some nice modern things all very competitively priced.
This has to be my favourite shop (at the moment) owing to the bargains I have had recently.
I'll start by stating that my 'local' Next is a 'clearance' store and by far the best shop for bargains and only about a mile away from me. I couldn't wait for it to open!
They stock everything you'd expect in your everyday Next store, menswear, ladieswear, childrens, shoes, bags, and household goods.
This can be a bit hit and miss, for example you'd find really glitzy Chrismas black dress numbers in the height of summer when you really don't want them then or they'll have racks of suits for two weeks then nothing for ages. You literally have to drop on a bargain.
They have started to have their sale to coincide with the normal next sales. They didn't use to do this as everything is at knock down prices anyway but they found marketing on TV brought customers into the store.
Prices can sometimes be verging on the ridiculous and by that I mean in a good way, for example you'd take a top to the counter and I always kind of hold my breath until they scan it through as more often than not it's cheaper than the label, even if it's reduced so it's a pleasant surprise to find it's half that price again. I have been known to buy tops for £1 and £2. I always come away feeling smug I've bagged a bargain.
As I know what size to buy I can usually buy anything without trying on, which is just as well as there are no changing rooms.
Not a problem as you have 28 days to take things back with the receipt. I have known other customers who lived further afield try their garments on in the Matalan nearby then go back to Next for a refund!
The staff are always helpful but it could be that I'm a familiar face in there by now, I often wonder what they think as I go in regularly but I'm usually just checking to see if they have anything new in there. I can't resist!
My best bargain recently was a 2 seater brown velvet sofa, reduced from £400 to £250 then £150, a bargain. Again furniture is hit and miss they might not have any for weeks then loads, I also bought a sideboard for £75 that should have been over £200 in the catalogue.
I like their products as I find it's good quality stuff and the clothes usually wash well.
At Christmas time they sell paper and cards at knock down prices along with the usual gift ideas.
I like this shop as it saves me going into town, finding somewhere to park etc and I know I'll always get a bargain.
The downside is I feel compelled, 'Oh I'll just have a look' and they always have something in I like.....
A great store, great value, I love this shop!
